Some might call it a big incense. And they wouldn’t be entirely wrong.
We just brought in a range of smudging bouquets from Totem Nature — a small French studio in the south of France, hand-tying every bouquet from certified organic, French-grown plants. Sage and cedarwood. Rosemary and lavender. Fig leaves and mugwort and poppies. No chemicals, no synthetic anything.
You don’t need to believe in energy work to use one. You light it, blow out the flame, walk around your apartment, and about four minutes later the whole place smells like a forest floor in a way no candle quite manages. It’s the kind of thing you do before people come over. Or after they leave. Or after cleaning your home — to complete that quietly elated feeling of a place that’s finally in order.
Each bouquet is tied around a different intention — the deer for grounding, the owl for vision, the hare for purification. Take that as seriously or as lightly as you like. What we love: it’s a moment to pause, to scent the room, and to notice how you actually want the day to go.
Also they look beautiful on the coffee table.

Made in Tokyo by artisans at Sghr Sugahara, a Japanese glass studio founded in 1932. Each carafe, glass is individually mouth-blown and finished by hand. Small variations in form, subtle bubbles, and faint lines are part of the making — the mark of the glassblower’s breath rather than a machine.

Kazuma Sugahara started this in 1932 with one glassblower in Tokyo, making glass to order, one piece at a time. The workshop eventually moved to Kujukuri, a stretch of Chiba coastline where the sea breeze still moves through the open doors while the glass is being shaped at 1,400 degrees. Forty glassblowers now, mouth-blown, no two pieces ever quite identical—which is the whole point.
Alfred de Musset wrote qu’importe le flacon, pourvu qu’on ait l’ivresse—who cares about the bottle, as long as you get the intoxication. Lovely in a poem. Wrong in practice. The pleasure starts well before the first sip: in the weight of the glass in your hand, the thinness of the rim, the way a properly thin lip lets a drink actually reach your tongue instead of getting stopped short by too much glass in the way.
