Sick with chronic Lyme for years and still not better?

Dr. Richard Horowitz shares how it took him 10 years and 1,000 patients to develop a 9-week dapsone combination protocol. He says patients without active Babesia, Bartonella, mold or other complicating factors have about a 50/50 chance of long-term remission, even after decades of illness.

He and Dr. Mitchell also talk about research linking long-term dapsone use in leprosy patients to six times less Alzheimer's dementia.

What if we've been treating Alzheimer's biomarkers from the wrong end?

Dr. Richard Horowitz explains that anti-amyloid drugs like lecanemab and donanemab lowered P-tau 217 by about 23% over 6 to 7 years, according to a recent Cochrane review. In the case he published, his patient's P-tau 217 dropped 63% in 9 weeks after treating her chronic Lyme disease.

What if an infection was behind some of the inflammation linked to Alzheimer's?

Dr. Richard Horowitz shares a case he published in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease Reports. His patient had chronic Lyme symptoms for 15 years and an elevated P-tau 217, a marker linked to Alzheimer's. After nine weeks of dapsone combination therapy, that marker dropped 63% into the normal range, and she said her memory and focus felt much better.

Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Horowitz talk through what this case could mean for patients and doctors.
