Happy ! This February, The Single Parent Resource Center celebrates the 100th anniversary of . In 1926, Dr. Carter G. Woodson started the Negro History Week which eventually led to Black History Month in 1976. Woodson chose the second week of February to coincide with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. Black History Month was created to recognize, celebrate, preserve history, achievements, and the contributions of Black Americans throughout our history.
