Michael's Cause www.michaelscause.org Our son, Michael Capolongo, was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in November 2010. He is 14 years old and is walking strong.

Michael has been a participant in 2 clinical trials. He is determined to remain healthy until a cure is found. Michael's Cause has funded over 1.8 million dollars towards research in addition to help families with power wheelchairs, vans, ramps and other equipment to make the lives of these boys and young men easier. We are so proud to be a part of funding an accessible van for 15 year old Ilia Zakhilkos from Massachusettes. Ilia has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and was in need of this vehicle to help maintain his independence. Ryan's Quest, Austin's Hope KOMD and Michael's Cause all came together to make this possible. On behalf of Michael's Cause we remember the brave men and women who gave everything for our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it’s a time to honor the sacrifices made by those who never made it home.

Because of their courage, we live with freedoms too often taken for granted. May we never forget the cost of that freedom, and may we carry their legacy with gratitude, respect, and remembrance.

I am very happy to have completed the 2026 RBC Brooklyn Half marathon today. I thank Christine for keeping me focused today at the race. I thank my family for picking me up at the finish line and never having a doubt. The temperature was hot and the race was tough but we got it done.
