First-ever PAs in Asian Health local event, 20+ PAs & PA students in one room. Derm, GI, plastics, peds, family med, we had it all.

Old classmates reconnecting. New friendships forming. This is exactly why we do this. 🙌

Networking isn’t a nice-to-have in this field, it’s the whole game. Community > going it alone.

Shoutout to Paul Mai and Kyle Liang for helping me pull this off.

Real ones get called up when it counts. 🙌

This week I’m mentoring at The Consult — Healing Healthtech’s mini accelerator for early-stage founders building the future of healthcare (Aug 26–27, NYC).
21 founders picked their must-meet mentors going into this thing, and I made the list. Wild to be in the same room as some of the sharpest investors and operators in digital health right now.

But honestly? The real reward isn’t the company I’m keeping — it’s watching a founder walk out with an answer that saves them 6 months of guessing.
This is the work. Helping healthcare builders skip my mistakes and get straight to impact.

Honored to be named President-Elect of PAs in Asian Health.

My journey as a PA has never been traditional—from mentoring future PAs, to pushing beyond clinical expectations, to stepping away in 2018 to build in the business side of healthcare.

As a Chinese immigrant, I grew up with the unspoken rule to stay quiet and follow the path. I chose differently.

This role is deeply personal. It’s about creating space, elevating voices, and showing the next generation of Asian American PAs that we can lead, innovate, and redefine what’s possible.

This is what the future of primary care looks like—NPs stepping into ownership, building for their communities, and leading from the front.

Scope of practice and payment reform in NY isn’t optional—it’s a workforce necessity. NPs and PAs are already a core part of primary care, but outdated rules still limit access.

Let us practice at the top of our training. Let us lead.
