It is never an easy task to create a platform where we can tell our stories and highlight the things we do for our members and the community of New York. To have a newsletter we can truly be proud of is already a gain and an accomplishment on our end.

We greatly appreciate and value this nomination from PNAA.

Kudos to our Editor in Chief, Ian Saludares, his editorial team and our contributing writers for leading our chapter to this level of excellence.

Preserving our history 📚📓🇵🇭

Our PNA NY officers met with Laura Chen-Schultz, Deputy Director of the Asian Pacific American Institute at NYU, and Tiffany Sloan, an MA student in NYU's Archives and Public History Program, to discuss the archiving of our organizational documents in preparation for our Centennial event.

The documents will be housed in NYU's library to facilitate enhanced member access and preservation. We hope that this initiative will preserve the work and accomplishments of our organization throughout the years and will be appreciated by future generations.

We are glad that we are making progress in archiving our valuable documents which chronicles our chapter's historical stories through the years.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

On this Memorial Day, PNA New York proudly pays tribute not only to our fallen heroes in uniform, but also to the countless nurses who served with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication during times of war, crisis, and peace.

Nurses have always stood at the front lines of healing, answering the call to care for others even in the most difficult times. Their service, sacrifice, and humanity embody the true spirit of Memorial Day.

As we reflect on the freedoms we enjoy today, may we never forget those who gave so much for our communities and our country.

With gratitude and remembrance,
The Philippine Nurses Association of New York, Inc.

PNA New York was deeply honored to serve as the Official First Aid Provider during the Inaugural Santacruzan & the 100th Canonical Coronation Anniversary of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag at the iconic St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.

This historic and faith-filled celebration brought together more than 2,000 devotees from across the United States in a remarkable gathering of devotion, culture, and community. PNA New York proudly stood in service throughout the event, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all attendees during this momentous occasion.

With over 20 dedicated nurse volunteers, our organization carefully prepared for the event through extensive coordination with event organizers and the NYPD, strategic deployment of roving First Aid teams throughout the venue, and active support in managing the quick turnover of masses and large crowd movements at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Despite the torrential rain, our volunteers showed extraordinary commitment, professionalism, compassion, and resilience. Their willingness to serve under challenging conditions truly reflected the heart of nursing and the spirit of bayanihan.

We extend our deepest gratitude to every volunteer who generously gave their time, expertise, and energy to make this event safe and successful. Your service embodied the mission of PNA New York and demonstrated the strength and dedication of Filipino nurses in our community.

Maraming salamat for representing PNA New York with excellence, grace, and unwavering service.
