FEMM (Fertility Education + Medical Management) is a knowledge- and science-based reproductive health program for women, which teaches them to identify, track, and comprehend changes in their body that are relevant to their health and fertility. Women are guided to notice important, specific biological signs—i.e., menstruation and ovulation—and understand both why these signs occur and what they m

ean for their general and sexual health. Women can use these personal observations to more fully understand their body, knowledgeably partner with medical professionals in identifying health problems and solutions, address any irregularities and underlying problems, and make decisions about the timing of their pregnancies. FEMM has its headquarters in New York, with health centers available in Columbus, OH; New York, NY; and Eunice and Lafayette, LA. See more info here: https://femmhealth.org/health-centers. For more info about the FEMM Education page, see this: https://femmhealth.org/education/learn-femm. A FEMM iPhone is available.

At our FEMM medical management training in Nigeria 🇳🇬 we met doctors and medical providers delivering healthcare to women and families directly impacted by the violence and unrest in the region. These are our fearless FEMM heroes who will now bring the best in research and clinical protocols to every woman.

The first FEMM Medical Management training in Nigeria is now in the books! These doctors couldn’t have been more inspiring, as we heard about their work on the front lines, treating the poorest and most vulnerable in communities across Nigeria.

We knew we needed to get them FEMM - as no person should go without the best in reproductive healthcare, regardless of conflict or circumstance. It wasn’t easy getting there, given the situation, but after multiple visa attempts and delays… we made it.

The Reproductive Health Research Institute (RHRI) led the training, along with our FEMM medical team from the Weil Bugando Medical Center in Tanzania.

It was a privilege to work with these dedicated and caring providers, as we poured over the research and FEMM treatment protocols together this past week, learning about their patients’ unmet need for reproductive health education and treatment.

Don’t they look dapper in their newly minted FEMM lab coats?! Welcome to the FEMM family - and thank you for traveling to the remotest regions to tirelessly care for the people in your communities.

FEMM medical professional, Dr. Danielle Koestner, spoke to graduate and undergraduate students from the School of Health Sciences at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana! It was a packed house as students learned about how FEMM protocols address the root cause of endocrine and reproductive health issues. Symptoms are signs 🚨 - not something to just be covered up 🩹 - as you continue on, struggling, undiagnosed and untreated for years.

FEMM is changing the standard of care for women, girls and families — thanks to our providers and partners. Thank you Indiana, for the opportunity to present and partner.

Change is coming! FEMM is changing the standard of care for women’s health … and judging by the packed house at … Indiana is SO ready!

We spoke to numerous people who shared an all-too-familiar story: they had a long list of symptoms but every doctor told them “everything is normal.”

It takes an average SEVEN years for a woman to get a diagnosis. That is a lot of confusion, pain, heartache and frustration. But not with FEMM!

Medical professionals from the local Franciscan Health network who are receiving FEMM training, shared how they are now better able to diagnose and treat the root cause, giving women, adolescents and families the treatment and care they deserve!

SOUND UP! A clip of FEMM CEO, Anna Halpine, from her speech at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, about the need for FEMM globally.

🏜️ Waiting 8 years to receive a healthcare diagnosis is a healthcare desert.

🏜️ Women and teens who do not know how their bodies work is a healthcare information desert.

🏜️ Lack of access to medical providers who can diagnose and treat the underlying cause is a GLOBAL healthcare desert.

FEMM is bridging these gaps. FEMM is improving mental health. FEMM is improving health and fertility outcomes. FEMM is improving accessibility to the best in healthcare research, education, diagnosis and treatment.

Listen, like and share to change the standard of care!

So many incredible conversations are happening around FEMM and RHRI research! We are thrilled to report that there was a lot of interest about our research on underlying conditions in infertility and the causes of ovulatory dysfunction in adolescence and reproductive aged women.

Based on the number of medial professionals and researchers who came by with questions, and then returned with more people and even more questions, it’s safe to say that our work at FEMM is just getting started!
