This one is for all the moms out there!

In her own words: “I work full time and have two toddlers, so it’s safe to say that time to be in the gym snd cook healthy meals is limited. I had the mentality that if I couldn’t spend hours in the gym and drastically cut my calories that I wouldn’t see any results. I can confidently say that Make It Train has given be the resources and knowledge to change this incorrect mindset.”

1️⃣ This was about optimizing for HER lifestyle - don’t make a client work the plan, make the plan work for them!

2️⃣ This took time! There was never a definitive “end date” and because of this, we were less concerned with hitting certain #’s and more concerned about mastery of knowledge and understanding which in turn leads to more sustainability.

3️⃣ We hit road blocks and we worked through them. Progress is never perfectly linear and this case was no exception. The difference was that we made forward progress over the long term and didn’t get caught up in the week to week.

Nice progress update from another one of our long term clients, Jeff.

This man is on a mission to drop 100+ lbs and that goal is now within reach. Currently down 85 lbs and we have no doubt that he is going to succeed in his goal. We’ve been working together since May (8 months) and the focus has been on so much more than just macros.

We’ll save the boring stuff for a longer post when we sit down with him once he hits his goal and talk specifics but a strong conviction, high ex*****on rate and desire to learn go a LONG way.

Great changes happening here for one of our female clients roughly 3 months into her programming.

We have REALLY been focusing on managing stress and improving mindfulness along with appropriate dietary changes. She is executing the plan day in and day out and IT SHOWS! It ain’t only about macros and meal timing, there is A LOT more that goes into this and this is a prime example.

Another client progress update but with a slightly different visual utilizing our 3D Body Scanner to show the progress.

This is what we like to call a grand slam:
Body Fat % ⬇️
Weight ⬇️
Fat Mass ⬇️
Lean Mass ⬆️

We started working with this client at the end of August (Aug 28 was when the baseline measurements were taken to be exact) so roughly 3.5 months in the works thus far. She personal trains on site with us and then utilizes our online platform for nutrition and coaching. As coaches, this is the epitome of when proper programming comes together. As tempting as it is to put a client through the ringer when they first come to you, it is almost ALWAYS the wrong move if the client lacks the adaptations to go into a phase that demanding (yet we see it all the time with almost every Tom, Dick and Harry trainer but that’s another post in itself).

The first two months of her programming were spent improving mobility and movement as a whole, building strength, adding muscle and building some serious aerobic capacity. She only lost .8 lbs of fat in the first two months. Let me repeat that, SHE ONLY LOST .8 LBS OF FAT IN THE FIRST TWO MONTHS!!! But you bet your ass the adaptations made during that time were fully designed for her to “shred” when the body was ready for it. I’ll let you do the math on what we were able to accomplish in the last month and a half. Moral of the story is this, teach a client “why” they need to make the adaptations you are trying to make and what the payoff will be when the time is right 😎

IT TAKES TIME...

These starting pictures on the left of our client Kevin Williams were taken towards the end of June 2019. Fast forward 18 months and 75 lbs later and the guy on the right looks like a completely different person. It’s not about how quickly you can get to the end, it’s about how sustainable the program is so that you can STAY there or get even better and that was the plan from the start.

Here’s the difference between Kevin and those who get discouraged and quit when they can’t see drastic results in a short period of time:

1️⃣ He understood that progress is rarely perfectly linear
2️⃣ He didn’t quit after 1 bad day, 1 bad week or even 1 bad month (yes, we had bad months)
3️⃣ He changed his HABITS
4️⃣ He listened to his body and learned when to rest and when to put the foot on the gas (often times, less is more)
5️⃣ He became a student and learned the “why” behind what he was doing
6️⃣ He set short term goals that were part of the long term goal (small wins along the way are huge for momentum)
7️⃣ He changed his mindset

The look on his face says it all. Well done Kev, you made this happen. Proud of you and thank you for entrusting us to help you along the way 💪🏻

Body weight doesn’t tell the WHOLE story of an individuals progress. We finally had a chance to use our state of the art 3D body scanner for our first set of comparison scans with one of our clients and it is the perfect representation of why the scale should not be your sole measure of progress.

Body weight alone would tell us that our efforts were not “successful” over the course of the previous weeks. However, when you have the proper technology to tell the ENTIRE story, you see that this 1.2 lb increase in weight is actually the result of 2 lb increase in LEAN MUSCLE with a simultaneous reduction of .8 lbs of fat mass.
