Living with myasthenia gravis in New York? You already know that the city doesn't slow down, but MG can make the simplest things feel like a marathon.

The good news is that modern research is acknowledging the meaningful benefits of acupuncture, especially when combined with conventional treatment.
✅ Great results compared to conventional meds alone
✅ Improved muscle strength and fewer symptoms
✅ Immune modulation - helping calm the overactive immune response

Important medical reminder: You must not stop or alter your prescribed medications without your neurologist's supervision. The most evidence-supported approach is using TCM as an add-on therapy to help you enhance the results and further reduce the symptoms.

We're right here in New York City, and we can help you move through this city with more strength and less fatigue. Book an acupuncture appointment today by visiting nycacuwell.com

Do you feel like your body is always bracing for the next thing?

Disrupted organ systems manifest different symptoms
Liver Qi stagnation — trapped stress, frustration, and tension that the body can't release
Heart Shen disturbance — anxiety, racing thoughts, and poor sleep rooted in an unsettled mind-spirit
Kidney Yin deficiency — chronic depletion of your deepest reserves, leaving you wired but exhausted

Acupuncture works by stimulating specific meridian points that signal your nervous system to finally stand down, shifting you out of survival mode and back into a state of calm, clear, and grounded. Targeted herbal formulas can further support long-term healing and nervous system regulation.

Being in a constant cycle of stress and burnout shouldn't be a flex. Book an appointment with us to start your personalized treatment. Visit nycacuwell.com

Your pulse is a map, and we know how to read it.

We check your pulse to help us understand what your body needs. Then we treat the root, not just the surface. No two treatments are the same, because no two people are the same.

Not all tiredness is the same. In TCM, there is more than one type of tiredness.

* Not enough fuel kind of tired is often a sign of Qi Deficiency. This happens when you overwork, have a poor diet, or worry too much.
* Dragging tired is a severe form of low energy where "it can't hold itself up." In TCM, it's known as Spleen Qi Sinking.
* Brain fog and dry kind of tiredness are common after blood loss or too many late nights. And you've guessed it -- it's Blood Deficiency in TCM.
* Heavy and muddy is basically excessive dampness. Naps will definitely make you feel worse because your energy flow is blocked.
* Bone-weary tired is a sign of low Kidney energy. It has a cold and hot type. For cold type, you're always chilly. Hot type causes night sweats and dry mouth.
* Wired but tired happens when energy is stuck, not necessarily low. This often points to Liver stagnation.

While rest could be helpful, you may need an extra hand in addressing the deep-seated imbalances in your body. Acupuncture and Chinese medicinal herbs can replenish deficiency, move stagnation, and clear dampness. Ready to recharge? Visit nycacuwell.com to book an appointment today.

Dancers push their bodies to the limit every single day.

The long rehearsals, repetitive movements, and constant demand for precision can lead to tight hips, overworked calves, stubborn back pain, and injuries that won’t fully resolve.

Acupuncture provides both performance and recovery support. Besides the physical support acupuncture can give, it helps regulate what’s happening internally:
• Calms the stress response so you’re not stuck in fight-or-flight before stepping on stage
• Eases performance anxiety and helps you feel more grounded and present

Here at NYC Acupuncture + Wellness, treatments aren’t one-size-fits-all. We look at how your body moves, where it compensates, and what it needs to stay strong through rehearsals, auditions, and performances.

Sometimes, even if you eat the cleanest, warmest, most healthy foods on the planet, you may still struggle with reflux, bloating, or heavy digestion due to "how" we eat.

The good news is that these are not permanent problems. Since they are habits, they can be corrected.

* Chew your food until it's in a soft, pulp-like consistency.
* Stop at 70-80% full. Leave room for the digestive fire to breathe.
* If you sleep at 9 or 10 PM, your last meal should be around 6-7 PM. If you feel hungry later, a warm tea or a cup of broth can help.

Other than lifestyle modification, acupuncture and other TCM modalities can also help. We can:
* Restore your digestive fire
* Break stagnation

Another day, another TCM organ in on the clock! Between 11 AM and 1 PM, the Heart is naturally wired for connection, joy, and calm focus.

How do you care for your Heart during its peak?
* A true midday break - A 5-10 min rest can do wonders
* Staying hydrated
* Avoiding intense arguments and emotional triggers

If your Heart feels heavy, busy, and a little out of sync, you may need acupuncture to restore harmony. Calm the spirit while healing the body. Book an appointment with us today by visiting nycacuwell.com

Let's talk about digestion, THE TCM WAY. Here's the truth. You can "eat clean" and still ruin your digestion.

* Processed foods are hard to transform. They create damp-heat and food stagnation.
* In TCM, raw is cold energy. Your Stomach and spleen need warmth to transform food into Qi and Blood. Too much raw food can extinguish the digestive fire.
* The same with literal cold drinks! Putting ice in your drink is also putting out your digestive fire. The stomach works best at room temperature.
* Too much dairy consumption dampens your system. Think brain fog, sinus issues, and a feeling of heaviness.

Keep in mind that TCM isn't about perfection, but pattern. You can still enjoy a cup of your favorite iced matcha and 6-piece fastnfood nuggets occasionally! If you're eating warming, cooked, nutrient-packed foods 80% of the time, your body can absolutely handle the 20% of joy, culture, and sanity treats you consume occasionally.
