The gallbladder is examined while the patient is fasting (prandial state) to assess it's normal structure and function.

No symptoms, asymptomatic.
Findings
1 Size shape/Contour:- Normal, pear-shaped with smooth walls.
2 Wall thickness:- Normal, Measuring less 3mm.
3 Echotexture:- Anechoic lumen,no sludge or calculi.
4 Biliary tree:- No intrahepatic or extrahepatic ductal dilatation.
5Common Bile Duct (CBD):- Normal caliber, up to 6mm.
6 Gallbladder contraction:- Not assessed ,as prandial state noted.


The gallbladder appears distended in size wall appear normal and anechoic (fluid -filled), with a thin wall (
