Small confession from this week.
I was mid-adjustment, walking a patient through their exam findings, when I caught myself doing it. Shoulders up near my ears, jaw tight, breathing from my chest instead of my belly, the exact thing I told you to check for on Thursday.
The guy who spends all day teaching people to notice nervous system bracing still braces without noticing.
That's not irony. That's just how nervous systems work. They don't check themselves. You have to build the habit of checking them.
So here's the honest version of Thursday's video: I do the hand-on-chest, hand-on-belly check on myself multiple times a day now, not because I've mastered it, but because I haven't.
Regulation isn't a place you arrive at once. It's a practice you keep coming back to. Clinician included.
What's the thing you teach other people that you're still working on yourself?
