Founded in 1902, JIB provides educational, vocational, rehabilitative, and health/social welfare resources for blind and visually-impaired youth throughout Israel. The Jerusalem Institute for the Blind provides a wealth of programs and services adapted to suit the needs, interests, and capabilities of children and adults in the Blind and Visually Impaired community. These programs help guide stude

nts as they forge their own paths toward independence through education, rehabilitation, health, social welfare, and a caring, knowledgeable staff. 110 years of providing service and education have put us in a singular position to design and develop programs that address the unique needs of our students and put them at a distinct advantage in society. Our programs foster, encourage, and define our mission statement “to help raise a student’s self-esteem so that he will not depend on others for help, but will himself become a helpful member of society."

This is a graduate of Jerusalem Institute for the Blind (JIB). He entered our school lost and scared and graduated confident and empowered.

"נקשרנו לחבר'ה העיוורים. אנחנו לומדות מהם בכל פעם מחדש והחלטנו שאנחנו לא נוטשות אותם, למרות שהפרוייקט הסתיים.
זה מעבר ללעשות טובה למישהו, זה פשוט הרגיש הדבר הנכון לעשות."

לפני כחצי שנה החלו עבודות הרכבת הקלה בצומת הרצל- צבי יהודה, המשמשת כצומת מרכזית בדרכם של עשרות עיוורים ולקויי ראייה המגיעים מידי יום לבית חינוך עיוורים.

חברת TARGET MARKET טרגט מרקט יחד עם כפיר - רכבת קלה ירושלים ו עיריית ירושלים הקצו דיילים על מנת לסייע לעיוורים הרבים להגיע למחוז חפצם ולהמנע ממכשולים בדרך.

לפני כשבוע, נגמר הפרוייקט.
זאת אומרת, העבודות ממשיכות, אבל הדיילים אינם..

רק שתיים, שתי דיילות, ענבר ואיריס, בורג קטן במערכת, החליטו שהן לא יכולות להפקיר כך את העיוורים והן ממשיכות לעמוד בשמש מידי יום, בהתנדבות מלאה, על חשבונן, כשהן נותנות את מספר הטלפון האישי שלהן לכל מי שזקוק לו והן ממשיכות בעצמן את הפרוייקט.
