When people wonder aloud why women don’t leave, I give you: post-divorce abuse. Oftentimes the abuse becomes worse after you leave, impacting the victims throughout childhood and adulthood. The chart below is accurate in my experience. Find your people and support for the long haul. You don’t have to go it alone.

The U.S. has no coercive control laws, however a handful of states have initiated civil and family law protections. The Voiceless Justice Act seeks to change that. Please check it out.
