I’ve been asked a few times recently so I think I need to post about it:

I will not sell Numbing products if you are not a client.

If you are being tattooed outside of my studio you need to be discussing application of numbing agents with your artist directly. Any professional studio will have access to or recommendations on products they prefer you use.

Please note I am not associated with ANYONE tattooing or preforming services outside of my studio nor do I support or endorse tattooing outside of a professional shop or without clear professional training.

I wanted to hop on and show you all an example of irritation from adhesive.
I talk to yall at the end of each and every appointment to watch for irritation, redness or signs of a potential allergic reaction. This is a prime example of just that…

The redness around this piece started within 12hrs of application of an aftercare bandage. Please note this client did everything correct by taking it off as soon as she noticed, in addition to contacting me for further care instructions.

While this level of irritation is easily resolved, keeping an aftercare bandage on longer than directed, or outside of the directions given to you by your artist could affect both your skin & your new artwork in a more permanent manner.

If you have any questions about aftercare options, allergy testing, or tattoos in general I’ll be at the studio today for Walk-In Wednesday from 11am-6pm

A few months ago I made a few simple comments that I plan to stick by.
1: Tattoos are a Luxury, but eating shouldn’t be.
2: You can be a part of the problem, or you can be apart of the solution.

The donation center, and better put, its location has been a recent topic of conversation for myself, parts of this community, and the City Council.

I could go into specifics of how this situation has been handled, instead I will encourage you to watch the previous city council meetings to see for yourself.

I am not proud of my initial reaction nor the fact that I allowed rudeness to anger me. I will however stand by my opinion that it was unnecessary for city employees to present the issue as they did, and that members of the council misrepresented the conversations I had with them.

While the previous bench situation was unsightly, so is the state of poverty and need within this community. As I tried to express to the council, the center was never intended to be a cause for issues, inconvenience, or a breach of an ordinance I was not aware of.

The donation center has, and will continue to be a place community members can find food, personal hygiene and care items at any time, shine or snow, without question.

It is a place community members who feel inclined to help can bring those items as well.

Again, the donation center has a new look, maybe not a forever one, but for now one that hopefully will show the city I have been willing to cooperate since the beginning.
I will continue to seek clarification from the city council as to what the ordinance specifically means, meet the required need to utilize the sidewalk per their permit, but hopefully get to a point with the city works department for a more appropriate solution to allow for donations on the sidewalk as they were as to avoid entrance way obstruction.

Let this be an invitation to council members and city employees who are also interested in working together to find an appropriate solution, give me a call, come by the studio, heck I’ll even try to be more attentive to my email if that’s your preferred method of communication.

I’m not trying to be your enemy, I’m trying to be a good neighbor. Meet me with a little more kindness and a little less judgement to be better lights in the community and show everyone there’s an ability to be a benefit to all.

To the individuals and businesses that have offered to help, thank you. Without the words if encouragement and help I would be in a much more dim mindset to continuing this station.

Today’s walk-in Wednesday will be from 12pm-6pm sorry for any inconvenience.

See you all at City Hall at 7pm for the City Council meeting.

See you all at City Hall at 7pm for the City Council meeting.

Just received a VERY snarky “courtesy call” from Stacy at the City informing me that the donation center is not permitted on the sidewalks and that a city works employee called her and wanted me informed their department is not liable if it is destroyed while they remove snow.

I think it’s a little sad our city employees find it necceary to not only be rude but to also lack the safe skill on a SIDEWALK to avoid hitting objects no more than 20” away from the business front.

Thank you City of Newcastle for being supportive of something so menacing as a donation center 👍🏻👍🏻
