Let me know if your new Fender comes with these new "SuperFlat" (not trademarked) frets. Evidently its become a big Fender QC fail. This is a result of leveling the frets with a block but not recrowning them (or polishing, it seems). Flat frets move the intonation point of the fret out in front of where the crown should be. This, new strings, and an overall "refresh" is only $60.

They've evidently done a 'radius block' levelling, no re-crowning and just a quick 5 minutes on the buffing wheel, then out the door.

We took a "team-building" trip to Guitar Center for lunch today. Played around with the JM Acoustasonic. If you've got the scratch it's a nice sounding piece! The bass isn't as deep as a full-body (why would it be?) but it still sounds nice and bright! (BTW, I can lower the stock action when you get yours!)

This Italia Maranello MKI in Azzurro blue is a stunner. Semi-hollow mahogany, maple, and rosewood. Sounds great even unplugged. It needs white racing stripes and a number badge.
Going to slightly lower the high end action, intonate, polish the fret ends... basically a guitar day at the spa.
