in 1979 by Bill Liberty, Liberty Tattoo is an award-winning, custom studio now located in Newcastle, CA (formerly in Folsom, CA and the American River College area in Sacramento, CA). Liberty Tattoo is a private, appointment only, one artist studio, one client per day, MON, FRI, SAT and currently every other WED, 3 or 4 hour session @ 1:00-4:00 (no evenings). No guests please, our office is small
and your guests will have to wait in the lobby of the building. We typically book out two months at a time, and always require an in-person consultation and non-refundable cash deposit to get on the books. The deposit goes towards the tattoo unless you cancel for any reason, please read the FAQs on our web site: www.BillLibertyTattoo.com. We work by the hour, and at the consult you’ll be given an estimate (“a very rough approximation,” “an approximate calculation or judgment of the value”). The estimate is given before your design is drawn/finalized and before your work is started so it is indeed an "estimate." The larger and/or more detailed the design the more difficult to impossible it will be to estimate. If you want an exact price you might be happier with an artist who charges “by the piece.” Or, you can always go to an artist who charges less per hour but if they are less experienced and work slower you might end up paying more. If you've been here before you know we’re all business, we don't waste time/money, and we're not trying to rip you off... we're not even the highest priced around. you can be sure that we’ll complete it for you as quickly as possible but without compromising its integrity, and you need to be ok with the fact that it's done when it's done. Full back pieces and sleeves can take 30 hours +/-, half sleeves 15 hours +/- (obviously this all depends on your size, and the size/details of the design). Be committed, get your big project done in a timely manner! As professionals we won't tattoo a design in a way that we "know" won't look good, won't heal well, or won't hold up well over time... like white ink tattoos or a light/pastel piece (we like black ink!), details and lettering too small, fingers, toes, the arch of a foot, inside of a lip, etc. You'll see pieces like this online, on TV, and maybe on your friends and right after they're done they might look OK but once healed, not so much. We like to do work that will remain vibrant, look good and in the case of lettering be legible, for years and years. We haven't raised our rate much over the last 20+ years, in fact we went almost 10 years without an increase (we planned on going up in 2008 but when the economy tanked we couldn't see doing that). When we do have an increase your work will be completed at the rate it was started provided you get it done in a timely manner (meaning if we don't see you for several years you can't expect to pay a rate that's several years old), and your next piece will go up. If you consider your work finished and then decide to add on to it, if we've had an increase the addition will be done at the new rate. APRIL 2022: Due to the rising cost of, well… EVERYTHING, we had a small price increase. JULY 2023: Booked until OCT and not booking beyond yet. Closed TUES/every other WED/THUR/SUN & Major Holidays
