“I first joined the Burn family back in 2020 and immediately fell in love with it. But life had other plans. A few years later, I found out I was pregnant with twins, and my workouts were replaced with slow walks and growing two tiny humans. Pregnancy and postpartum weren’t kind to me, and by the time my twins turned two, I barely recognized the person looking back at me in the mirror.
Like so many moms, I was pouring everything I had into my kids, my husband, and my career, leaving nothing for myself. My own physical and mental health had fallen to the bottom of the priority list, and I had lost confidence in myself.
When I finally decided to come back to Burn in February, I was honestly terrified. I worried the workouts would be too hard, that I’d be embarrassed by what I couldn’t do, and that everyone else would be so much farther ahead than me.
What I quickly realized was that everyone starts somewhere. No one expected perfection—they just wanted me to show up.
Since restarting in February, I’ve lost 40 lbs, dropped two clothing sizes, and gained so much more than that. I’ve learned how to fuel my body, I’ve stopped being afraid to walk into the gym, and, most importantly, I’ve gotten my confidence back. I’ve learned that taking care of myself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. When I fill my own cup, I show up as a better mom, a better wife, and a happier version of myself.
One of the biggest surprises has been the community. The trainers make every workout fun, and I genuinely look forward to laughing with them (even while they’re making us suffer!). Working out with other people has made all the difference. Somehow burpees are a little more bearable when everyone else is suffering right alongside you. 😂
If I could tell someone who’s thinking about joining Burn one thing, it would be this: Don’t compare your Day 1 to someone else’s Day 1,000. Everyone in that gym had a first workout. The hardest part is walking through the doors. Just show up, do your best, and let yourself be proud of every small step forward.”
