A prayer for Space and Time. 🌎

I arranged these natural stones and sat with them in prayer: for the cycles of existence, Earth’s healing, for our remembering, for love, and for all the life held within it.

Pomegranate | Food as Medicine ❤️

Few fruits carry as much symbolism and nutritional density, as the pomegranate.

In Chinese medicine, pomegranate (石榴, shí liú) is traditionally considered sweet, sour, and astringent. Its astringent nature is associated with securing and containing—traditionally used when the body is losing fluids excessively. Different parts of the fruit have historically been used differently, so the medicinal actions attributed to the rind or root shouldn’t automatically be assigned to the arils we eat.

From a modern nutritional perspective, pomegranate is particularly rich in polyphenols, including ellagitannins and anthocyanins. These compounds have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, and human research has investigated pomegranate in relation to cardiovascular and metabolic health. It also provides fiber when the whole arils and seeds are eaten.

What I love most about food as medicine is that it doesn’t have to be complicated.

A handful of ruby-red pomegranate arils over a meal can be both nourishment and pleasure—two things that were never meant to be separate.

Food is not merely fuel. It is information, relationship, and medicine.
