There’s something humbling about learning that the deeper you dive into Scripture, the history, and creation… the more your understanding grows and changes. Even if it’s just tidbits at a time…

When I first learned that Jesus’ body was prepared with myrrh and aloes after the crucifixion, I immediately pictured Aloe Vera — soothing, green, medicinal. But as I recently came back to wanting to know more biblical plants and herbs, I learned that “aloes” in Scripture likely referred to Agarwood (also called aloeswood or oud) — a rare, fragrant wood used in sacred burial preparations and perfumery.

That completely changed the way I read the passage, and actually makes a little more sense now.

Not because the truth of Scripture changed — but because my understanding deepened.

It can remind us that growth in faith often looks like this:
✨ Learning.
✨ Unlearning.
✨ Studying deeper.
✨ Remaining teachable.

Sometimes we can think maturity means having all the answers. But I’m finding that spiritual maturity is often the willingness to say:
“I didn’t know that before.”
“I understand this differently now.”
“There’s more depth here than I realized.”

And honestly… I think that’s pretty cool.

Because of this new understanding, my Aloe & Myrrh massage butter will evolve. What originally began inspired by shea butter infused with Aloe Vera will now be reformulated into a buttery-oil blend featuring Agarwood, Frankincense Serrata, and Lavender — inspired by the deeper historical and aromatic understanding of “aloes” in Scripture. 🌿 Watch for the new Aloe & Myrrh soon! 🫶🏼

Even in my work — reading on oils, botanicals, and therapeutic care — I can see how creation itself points back to Him.

💭 Was there ever something you read one way, then with more understanding; it was something else?

✨More Than “Fluff…”✨

They call it “just relaxation” because many people have been taught that healing only happens through more pressure, deeper work, and intensity.

But the body does not heal through force alone.

Pressure tolerance is different for every person, every nervous system, and every season of life. More pressure is not always better pressure.

In fact, some of the body’s most important systems respond to lighter, intentional touch.

The lymphatic system only requires gentle pressure to encourage movement and flow. The skin itself contains pressure and touch receptors — like Pacinian corpuscles — that help the nervous system interpret safety, touch, and environment. Therapeutic touch communicates with the brain long before muscles fully release.

This is why massage should never be about “pushing through pain.”

Your session should involve communication, and awareness of what your body is responding to in real time.

Sometimes the body needs focused therapeutic work.
Sometimes it needs quiet, grounding, stillness, and rest.

A calm body is often a more receptive body.

When the nervous system begins to settle, breathing deepens, guarding decreases, circulation improves, and the body can shift from protection into restoration.

This is why touch, breath, prayer, warmth, stillness, and nervous system support are not “extra.”

They are foundational.

Scripture says:
“A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body.” — Proverbs 14:30

Massage is not simply about pressure.
It is about listening to the body well enough to know what it truly needs.

Peace is not passive.
Peace is healing.

✨ Relaxation Renewal Package ✨

A massage experience designed to help the body soften, the mind quiet, and the nervous system settle into rest.

We begin by preparing the body and mind with a warm Epsom salt foot immersion — your choice of:

🌿 Lavender & Honey — calming, soothe, and comfort
🌹 Eucalyptus & Rose — refreshing for breath, renewal, and gentle awakening

This preparation also includes a gentle sugar scrub to the feet and calves, helping soften the skin, encourage circulation, and prepare the body to receive our handcrafted body oils and massage butters.

We then conclude with a relaxing foot and calf massage before transitioning to the massage table.

Once comfortably settled, you’ll be guided through slow diaphragmatic breathing while inhaling lavender essential oil to encourage grounding and relaxation.

Your session then flows into a soothing face and scalp massage to ease muscular tension, followed by a full body Swedish massage designed to restore and renew.

Everything about this experience is intended to feel flowing and intentional in nature.

For those needing more focused therapeutic work, a Renewal Upgrade with concentrated deep tissue techniques is also available. ✨

✨ Manual Lymphatic Drainage: Gentle, Yet Powerful Healing ✨

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialized, light-touch technique designed to support the body’s lymphatic system—helping move fluid, reduce swelling, and encourage natural detoxification.

Unlike traditional massage, this work is slow, rhythmic, and intentional. It speaks directly to the nervous system, often bringing the body into a deeply relaxed, restorative state.

MLD could support:
🌿 Post-surgical swelling and recovery
🌿 Sinus congestion and immune support
🌿 Inflammation and fluid retention
🌿 Overall detox and nervous system regulation

What I like most about this work is how subtle it feels, yet how profound the effects can be. The body doesn’t need force to heal—it responds to the right kind of invitation.

Scripture even speaks about water, in many ways- how movement brings life, and how what flows is restored.

💧 “Wherever the river flows, everything will live.” — Ezekiel 47:9

It’s a beautiful reflection of what happens in the body—when fluid is able to move, nourishment increases, stagnation clears, and the body begins to restore itself the way it was designed to 🤗

⚠️ A note on safety:
Because MLD works directly with fluid movement in the body, there are certain conditions where medical clearance is important before receiving treatment. This can include things like active infections, unmanaged heart conditions, kidney concerns, blood clots, or certain cancers.

In these cases, your lymphatic system may already be under strain, and I want to ensure that supporting it is both safe and appropriate for your body. When needed, I’m always happy to work alongside your physician or care team to provide the best support possible. Doctor’s notes are always the best when in doubt!

If you’ve ever felt “stuck,” heavy, or inflamed—this may be exactly what your body has been asking for. 💧

Please note this is NOT for lymphedema cases.
At this time this service is only available to current clients.

🌿 The Role of Essential Oils in the Massage Room 🌿

One of the ways I like to deepen the massage experience is through the use of essential oils—not just for how they smell, but for how they work within the body.

Essential oils are derived from different parts of the plant—leaves, flowers, bark, and resins—each carrying unique plant compounds that can support the body in very real, therapeutic ways. From calming the nervous system to easing tension and supporting emotional balance, these natural elements offer more than just aroma… they offer a response.

What makes this even more powerful is how scent interacts with the body.

When you inhale an essential oil, it travels directly to the limbic system—the part of the brain responsible for emotion, memory, and the stress response. This is why certain scents can instantly bring a sense of calm, safety, or even release… without needing to think about it.

I started offering my curated blends at the beginning of the massage session.
There’s no explanation at first—just breath.

You take a moment, inhale each one, and simply notice what your body responds to. More often than not, the body chooses exactly what it needs.

We can be reminded from Ezekiel 47:12:
“Their leaves will be for healing.”

From the plant… through the breath… into the body.

It’s a simple, but powerful part of the work—creating space for your body to receive, respond, and restore.

✨ A Year Apart, The Same Peace ✨

Almost a year ago, I was in a place of deep anxiety.

For three days straight, I kept myself busy—almost on purpose—just to stay ahead of the thoughts in my mind. I didn’t want to sit in it. I didn’t want to feel it.

But on the third day, something shifted.

For the first time, I prayed with my whole heart. Not casually, not out of routine—but fully, honestly, asking God to take the anxiety away and help me through it.

And then… while driving, I looked up and saw a single white dove/pigeon.

In that moment, I felt it:
He is here.
I’m not alone.
Everything is going to be okay.

I cried. And just like that, peace came in.

Today, almost one year later (just two months shy), I saw them again.

Not one… but four.

And while my mind has been carrying a lot again lately, that same feeling came over me—calm, steady, reassuring.

Not loud.
Not overwhelming.
Just a quiet knowing:

“You’re on the right track.”

It’s amazing how God meets us in the same places… but in new ways.

What once was a single sign in a moment of desperation,
returned as a gentle confirmation in a season of growth.

I share this with you to say that he is all around us. We just have to be available with open minds and hearts.

✨ New Diffuser Blend ✨

This blend wasn’t planned… I just grabbed three oils at home—
Egyptian geranium, Spanish lavender, and Roman chamomile.

The moment it hit the diffuser, everything shifted.

I felt calm.
Grounded.
No anxiety… just stillness.

I literally wanted to sit beside it and stay there.

Now I’ve been diffusing it in sessions—and I’m seeing the same thing:
clients settling in quicker, breathing deeper, letting go without force.

🌿 Geranium – emotional balance
🌿 Lavender – calms the nervous system
🌿 Roman Chamomile – soothes overwhelm

I named it Peace Within… because that’s exactly what it gives.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you…” — John 14:27

✨ Why I Stepped Away from Pump Bottles ✨

I made a quiet but meaningful shift in my practice over the year— moving away from commercial massage lotions in plastic pump bottles and returning to hand-crafted massage butters, scooped slowly by hand.

This wasn’t about being trendy.
It was about intention.

Pump bottles encourage speed. One press, one motion, move on. But healing work — real, present, body-honoring work — isn’t meant to be rushed.

Manually scooping the butter naturally slows me down. It invites a pause. A breath. A moment to prepare.

The butter is held in ceramic vessels, not plastic. Earthy. Grounded. Reusable. Reverent.
It transforms that part of the session into a preparation, not a transaction.
An intention, not a quick service.

Because the body knows the difference, and so does the soul. 🌿

✨ A Foot Soak Rooted in Honor & Humility ✨

As requests for ionic foot baths have come in, I’ve been listening closely—not just to trends, but to the heart behind the request. And what keeps guiding me is the foundation of Next Level Massage + Wellness: intention, presence, and care that honors both body and spirit.

This offering is inspired by the biblical practice of foot washing—an act once reserved for servants, yet chosen by Jesus as a sacred expression of humility, love, and service.

Here’s how this experience unfolds:

Your feet are placed into a warm, herbal and epsome salt soak, inviting the nervous system to soften and the body to settle. From there, a gentle calf and foot prep scrub is applied, awakening circulation and preparing the tissues for deeper work.

The experience is completed with our Spikenard & Rose massage butter, intentionally chosen to honor the historical and spiritual significance of anointing—simple, pure, and reverent. Spikenard and rose, precious and costly, offered fully and without reserve.

This is not a detox promise.
This is not mechanical.

It is service.
It is presence.
It is being cared for from the ground up.

Sometimes the most profound healing doesn’t come from what we add or remove—but from being lovingly tended to, just as we are. 🤍
