La Chelé began at a folding table at two in the morning nearly 20 years ago.

Dr. Lisa Espinoza recently returned to The Pennington School to share her journey with this year’s graduating class.

Between hospital shifts, caring for a newborn, a quarter million dollars in medical school debt, and no blueprint, La Chelé was built on passion, determination, and an unwavering belief in doing things differently.

At the time, “med spas” as we know them today barely existed. There was no established playbook for the industry. Dr. Espinoza was among an early generation of physicians who helped define what medical aesthetics could become, building a physician led model centered on science, innovation, education, and natural results.

Nearly two decades later, that same entrepreneurial spirit is part of La Chelé. What began with one physician and an idea has grown into a team that continues to learn, innovate, and help move our industry forward without losing sight of what started it all: exceptional care and natural, undetectable results.
