Making Waves: My Journey as Head Instructor at Global Adaptive Aquatics

Every time I step onto the pool deck at Global Adaptive Aquatics, I am reminded that swimming is about so much more than learning strokes or becoming comfortable in the water. It is about confidence, connection, independence, and discovering what you are capable of achieving.
As the Head Instructor at Global Adaptive Aquatics, I have the privilege of working with individuals of different abilities and helping them experience the water in ways that are meaningful to them. My work is not simply about teaching swimming—it is about meeting each person where they are, understanding their unique needs, and creating an environment where they can learn without limits.
More Than Swimming
Our job requires patience, creativity, and a willingness to see possibilities where others might see obstacles. Every swimmer brings a different personality, learning style, comfort level, and set of goals to the pool.
That means there is no single formula for success.
One swimmer may be working toward greater independence. Another may be learning how to feel safe and confident in the water. Someone else may simply be discovering the joy of moving through the pool.
As Coach Levy, I have learned that some of the most meaningful victories aren't always measured in laps or perfect technique. Sometimes success is putting your face in the water for the first time, trying something new, communicating a need, or realizing, "I can do this."
Those moments matter.
Leading With Purpose
Being the Head Instructor also means supporting the people around me. I have the opportunity to help create a teaching environment where instructors understand that every swimmer deserves respect, encouragement, and individualized attention.
Our goal is not to change who a swimmer is. Our goal is to help each person discover what they can do.
That philosophy influences how I teach, how I coach, and how I approach every session. I believe in celebrating progress, even when progress comes in small steps. Those small steps often become the foundation for tremendous growth.
The Impact Goes Beyond the Pool
One of the most rewarding parts of this work is seeing how confidence in the water can carry into other areas of life.
A swimmer who becomes more comfortable in the pool may become more willing to try something new outside of it. A family that watches their loved one accomplish something they once thought was impossible may leave the pool with a renewed sense of possibility.
That is why I believe Global aAdaptive Aquatics is so powerful.
The pool becomes a place where limitations don't have to define the experience. It becomes a place to explore, learn, laugh, work hard, and succeed.
Why I Do What I Do
I am proud to serve as Head Instructor at Global Adaptive Aquatics.
Every swimmer teaches me something. Every family reminds me why this work matters. And every breakthrough—big or small—reinforces the reason I chose this path.
My hope is that every person who enters our pool leaves knowing one thing:
You are capable of more than you may realize.
And sometimes, all it takes is the right coach, the right environment, and someone willing to believe in you.
That is what I strive to bring to the pool every day.
