“After 14 years with the PruittHealth Family I finally decided to volunteer at Camp Cocoon. Why did I wait so long? This was such a memorable experience for many and most especially, me. Seeing those amazing kids at different levels of hurt getting a moment of joy and love at a time they needed it most. It was so well organized and incredible to see so many PruittHealth Family members stepping up and pitching in with their own special skills from dawn to dusk, rain or shine! Please consider being a volunteer next year. Don't wait as long as I did -- someone out there needs YOU!” - Camp Cocoon Volunteer Genie Fambrough

Congratulations to John Wyatt, winner of the 2026-2027 PruittCares Scott Shull Scholarship!

John Wyatt’s life changed forever when his youngest sister passed away in 2022 at age 9 from a rare inoperable brain tumor. During the three years she fought her illness, dozens of medical professionals supported her through numerous treatments, surgeries, and hospitalizations.

Her journey inspired John Wyatt to pursue a career in pediatric oncology. During his time at Mary Persons High School in Forsyth, GA, John Wyatt earned his CNA license through a dual enrollment program while remaining active in leadership organizations, student clubs, and community service. He began his studies at Mercer University in the fall of 2026 and hopes to serve as a physician in his hometown. His mother, Joy, works in therapy services at PruittHealth.

WHY I GIVE:

“I give to the PruittCares Foundation because I believe we are created to give and to nurture the people God brings into our life. Giving to those in need is just one way to honor God with all that he has given to us. I have seen the wonderful ways that this money is helping not only our Pruitt family, but the communities we serve as well.” – Barbara Corley, Care Management Assistant, PruittHealth Care Management

Over the summer Helena’s* husband developed a critical, fast-moving infection affecting the central nervous system that required immediate intensive care. While he is undergoing continued medical care, Helena’s job at PruittHealth is their only income.

Thanks to your generosity, a PruittCares grant helped cover their rent while they deal with these financial and medical challenges.

WHY I GIVE:

“I give to the PruittCares Foundation because I see a need, and I want to be a blessing to someone else. I know I was placed on this earth to serve others and to make a difference. It’s not the amount that’s given, as long as it’s given from the heart.” – Pamela Williams, Asst. Therapy Outcomes Coordinator, PruittHealth Therapy Services

PruittHealth - Orangeburg in South Carolina raised over $400 by selling boiled peanuts. The facility purchased the supplies, and Business Office Manager Alice volunteered to boil and bag the peanuts. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many of the staff members requesting a second sale!
