❤️🖤💚 Juneteenth — Freedom Day 💚🖤❤️

In 1864, Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler became the first Black woman to become a doctor of medicine in the United States! After the Civil War ended in 1865, she worked with other Black physicians to care for freed slaves who would have otherwise been without medical care. In 1883, she published a book on medical advice for women and children, which was one of the first medical publications by an African American.

On June 19, 1865, Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Texas to read "General Order No. 3," finally enforcing the freedom of 250,000 enslaved Black Texans.

Today, we honor the newest federal holiday,Juneteenth, as a day to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrate the resilience, achievements, and contributions of Black communities throughout history.
Juneteenth is a time to reflect American history and the journeys to Freedom, recognize the struggles that shaped (and still shape) our nation, reaffirm our commitment to work together for equality, justice, and opportunity for EVERYONE, and continue the ongoing dialogue around equality and civil rights.

This month's theme is STEADFAST

In a fast-paced world, I find it harder and harder to find stable footing when things are constantly shifting. As a creature of habit, I'm also finding it harder to develop better habits that I know will improve my well-being. I'm often maintaining consistent structure that doesn't reflect what I KNOW I need to instill into my day.

So this month is reconnecting our anchor points to what we KNOW is our true tether to who we are and who we want to be.

Cinqefoil may look like a tiny woodland bloom, but for centuries it’s been utilized in spirituality and healing. The word of the month is….. FLOURISH🌿🌻

After planting seeds of new growth throughout the winter, May arrives as a gentle invitation to witness what has quietly taken root. This is the season where intention begins to blossom into visible progress, and where the growth we’ve nurtured internally starts to reflect outwardly.

There is something quietly rewarding about recognizing how far we’ve come. The resilience developed in white knuckling the steering wheel of life, the lessons carried forward, and the wisdom gained through patience and persistence. Like spring itself, growth rarely announces its arrival all at once; it unfolds gradually, beautifully, and often when we least expect it.

May serves as a reminder to pause long enough to appreciate the flourishing taking place within and around us. Celebrate the progress, honor the journey, and allow yourself to fully embrace the season you worked so hard to reach.
