Your feelings are valid because they are real experiences connected to your life, your heart, and your journey. Every emotion — joy, sadness, frustration, fear, excitement, or overwhelm — deserves acknowledgment, not dismissal. Ignoring emotions does not make them disappear; caring for them helps us heal, grow, and maintain mental wellness.

Taking time to check in with yourself is not weakness — it is self-respect. Your emotions are signals that deserve compassion, understanding, and healthy support. Whether you need rest, encouragement, boundaries, prayer, movement, therapy, journaling, or simply someone to listen, your feelings matter.

At I Jump Rope 4 Them, we believe mental wellness starts with giving ourselves permission to feel, heal, and grow without shame. Caring for your emotional wellbeing is an act of strength.

✨ REMINDER:

You do not have to hide your feelings to be worthy.

You deserve peace, support, and emotional balance every single day.

Comment 👇🏾and let me know how you’re feeling. 💚

On Day 23 of I Jump Rope 4 Them’s 31-Day Jump Rope Challenge for Mental Health Awareness Month, I switched up the game. I went from Single Bounce to Straddle Jump - thanks to Jump Rope Dudes, who I discovered on Instagram.

It made my jump rope session a little more intense as I’m not accustomed to the Straddle Jump style. Oh, but it’s ALL GOOD because I’ll be incorporating it from now on - along with other styles I picked up from Jump Rope Dudes.

In fact, I’ll be incorporating the Straddle Jump style in my jump rope demonstrations on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at a free community health fair sponsored by The Virginia Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and The Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Virginia Rosemont Club (see the flyer on my social media pages).

My mind was concentrating on accomplishing each straddle jump. I messed up a few times and even burst out in laughter. Hey! It’s okay to laugh at yourself. The point is to keep going.

Now, it’s your turn to grab a rope and jump for your mental wellness. Be sure to record yourself (or have someone to do so) then tag me . ✌🏾💚
