May is a month of impact at the NRH Foundation.

Every gift, big or small, helps provide resources, equipment, education, and programs that directly support patients, families, and the dedicated teams who care for them every day.

When you give, you’re investing in better care right here in our community. And that impact is felt far beyond the hospital walls.

Supporting safe and effective recovery is a key part of patient care, and the Norman Regional Health Foundation is proud to fund this important request.

This Bladder Scanner grant will provide an additional bladder scanner for the Women’s & Children’s department, giving care teams a reliable, non-invasive way to monitor bladder function after surgery. With improved access to this equipment, nurses can respond more quickly, reduce complications, and support smoother recoveries for patients.

By enhancing the tools available at the bedside, this investment helps improve efficiency, reduce delays in discharge, and ensure patients receive attentive, high-quality care throughout their recovery process.

Please help us continue to help improve the health and wellness of our community by donating or learning how you can support our Foundation. Help us help you!. https://loom.ly/q0ziyYw

The NRH Foundation proudly congratulates James “Rick” McCurdy, MD, on this incredibly well-deserved recognition honoring his extraordinary career, leadership, and service to our community. 💜

Dr. McCurdy was recently surprised with a permanent tribute in Norman Regional’s Surgical Services waiting area, recognizing the lasting impact he has made on patients, colleagues, and generations of families across Cleveland and McClain counties. The special celebration included appearances by the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band 🥁 and OU coaching legend Barry Switzer 🏈, a meaningful tribute to a hometown hero whose influence reaches far beyond medicine.

A respected surgeon, former Oklahoma Sooners standout, and dedicated community advocate, Dr. McCurdy has spent decades caring for others with compassion and excellence. His family’s legacy of service in our region spans more than 100 years, and his own commitment to advancing healthcare continues to make a difference today.

We are deeply grateful for Dr. McCurdy’s generosity and longtime support of the Norman Regional Health Foundation. His continued dedication to improving the health and well-being of our community is inspiring, and we are honored to celebrate this special recognition alongside him, his family, and our community. Thankful to work with you at Norman Regional!

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is a powerful reminder of the cost of freedom and the importance of coming together in gratitude and remembrance.

Healthy communities start with meeting people where they are. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Norman Regional Health Foundation is helping expand access to flu vaccines for individuals who need it most.

Through partnerships with local organizations, care teams and volunteers are able to bring prevention directly into the community, helping limit the spread of illness and reduce the need for emergency care. It’s a meaningful way to support not just individual health, but the well-being of Norman as a whole.
