What if we’ve been thinking about “healthy” all wrong?
Because I think somewhere along the way… we got it backwards.
We’ve been taught that healthy looks like a certain body.
A certain weight.
A certain clothing size.
But after coaching people for almost 20 years…
I’ve learned that’s not what healthy looks like at all.
Healthy is the mom who still has the energy to play with her kids after a long day.
It’s the grandmother who can pick up her grandchild without her back hurting.
It’s the dad who has the energy to play outside with his kids after work.
It’s the person whose blood pressure finally comes down because they started taking walks every day.
It’s someone who’s strong enough to carry their own groceries.
Confident enough to try something new.
And resilient enough to keep going after a setback.
I’ve coached people who looked incredibly fit on the outside but were exhausted, stressed, and miserable.
And I’ve coached people who never reached the weight they thought they wanted… but gained confidence, strength, better sleep, lower blood pressure, and a life they actually enjoyed.
What if we started measuring health differently?
Not by the size of our body…
But by the quality of our life.
Healthy isn’t about looking like someone else.
It’s about building a body that lets you live the life you want to live.
So maybe the goal isn’t to become smaller.
Maybe the goal is to become stronger.
More capable.
More energized.
More resilient.
That’s the kind of healthy worth chasing.
