Train today. Support safer care tomorrow.

The ClearView Tracheostomy Trainer was designed to help clinicians better visualize airway function through hands-on, interactive learning.

Ideal for simulation labs, nursing programs, and clinical education settings, it brings greater clarity to tracheostomy management and airway education.

From an early prototype to the ClearView Tracheostomy Trainer we have today. This journey started with one goal:

To help clinicians better understand the airway.

What started as an idea informed by frontline clinical experience has developed into an educational tool aimed at improving the understanding and delivery of tracheostomy training through interactive learning.

We’re proud of how far ClearView has come and even more excited for what’s ahead.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the journey so far.

When to suction?

Mostly, it’s a clinical decision and therefore important to pay close attention to your patient.

Good tracheostomy care depends on ongoing assessment, listening to the patient, and recognizing subtle changes early.

Knowing when suctioning is needed is a key part of safe and effective tracheostomy care.

That’s why training and functional trainer matters.

When clinicians can better understand what’s happening inside the airway, they’re able to make more informed decisions, apply proper technique, and respond with greater confidence.

Training tools that make these interactions visible and functional can help support that level of understanding in practice.

What’s the difference between a speaking valve and capping?

They may look similar, but they serve very different purposes in tracheostomy care.

One supports the transition. The other helps assess readiness.

Understanding the difference is an important part of safe and effective airway management.

Most people think a speaking valve simply restores voice.

But that’s not what’s really happening.

When a speaking valve is in place, exhaled air no longer exits through the tracheostomy.

Instead, it’s redirected upward through the vocal cords and upper airway.

And that shift changes everything:

• How patients breathe
• How voice is produced
• How clinicians assess cuff status and airway function

Understanding this isn’t just helpful, it’s essential for safe and effective tracheostomy management.

Because when you understand the airflow, you understand the airway.

What part of speaking valve use do you find most misunderstood?

Moments like this mark a meaningful step in recovery for patients with a tracheostomy—the ability to communicate again and reconnect with others.

On Speech-Language Pathology Day, we recognize the clinicians who make that progress possible. Speech-language pathologists play a vital role in restoring voice, supporting communication, and ensuring safe swallowing for patients navigating tracheostomy care.

Their work goes beyond helping patients speak again, it restores confidence, connection, and quality of life.

Tracheostomy care requires more than technical skill.

It requires the ability to recognize changes early and understand what those changes mean clinically.

For nurses, that often means being the first to notice shifts in secretion management, cuff behavior, or respiratory status before complications escalate.

During Nurses Week, we recognize and thank the nurses whose vigilance, critical thinking, and clinical judgment help protect patients every day. đź’™

T-Tube vs Tracheostomy Tube: What’s the difference?

Both are airway devices—but they serve very different clinical purposes.

Understanding these differences helps support safer care, clearer decision-making, and more confident clinical practice.
