We are back at it again today offering all you amazing riders IV hydration. HUGE thanks to all those who have stopped by and seen us already.

We are located at the Main Campground in Ottumwa right by the RAGBRAI baggage drop off and bike shop. Come and enjoy our most popular IV the Athletic Restore. Replaces your electrolytes and vitamins

Get prepared for your century ride tomorrow!

TODAYS SPECIAL: $60 1L saline bag. Get a second 1L bag for $40. For any IV get Toradol (Pain medication) for just $10

We also have the leg compressions for $1 a minute to help those tired legs recover and get that lactic acid build up out especially when combined with an IV to help flush it out.

Being our first RAGBRAI L July 23-29, 2023 I couldn’t be more impressed by the the people we met. It was such an amazing experience meeting everyone and being able to help out everyone else that really needed our services. I loved the conversation and getting to know those who came to see us. We are all set up in Tama and the main campground by the elementary school. . Stay hydrated everyone and get out of the sun as quick as possible. You need electrolytes and salt as well as water. Pinch of celtic salt every 4 hours in 16 oz of water is what I recommend. It has potassium, magnesium, sodium and trace minerals. Pink himalayan is good to. Plus this combination helps to hydrate your cells and to keep you hydrated. I know a lot of riders recommend pickle juice which is a good substitute. Just water isn’t going to cut it you need sodium and electrolytes with this heat and the amount of sweating everyone is doing.

Early Signs of heat stroke:

Warm or hot skin temp is 99 or a little higher when at rest and out of the sun. If you get to 101 you are in full blown heat stroke

Profusely sweeting while at rest and in shade and flushed red face. Your body is desperately trying to cool you down but at the same time making things worse. If you stop sweating you altogether, feel very weak, nausea or vomiting, hot to touch, not thinking clearly, and significantly more fatigued you are in real trouble. Your body has no more reserve left and you are in full blown heat stroke. Seek help immediately.

Nausea starting to creep in or stomach not feeling good. Please eat light. Heavy meals will only make you worse. Your body is working so hard to keep you cool, the first thing it slows down is your gut. Digestion is not a priority when heat stroke is setting in. This is what the body does automatically to protect your vital organs.
We are at the main campground right as you come in. If you need us to check you out we can. I have some celtic salt for everyone who wants it. Just come by and I will give you some. The first aid tent is right here as well. If you are not feeling well just get checked out please. We want everyone to stay safe in this hot weather. Thank heaven for the nice breeze today.
