Thank you to the readers of AY Magazine for naming us the best providers of hospice care in the state! We are Arkansans serving Arkansans – your neighbors, friends and family members – and it’s our privilege to care for your loved ones.

As Arkansas Hospice is becoming LifeTouch Health, we are the same team and same nonprofit organization – offering more services and impacting more lives in more ways. We now provide a continuum of care:

• Personal care providing in-home, non-medical support in the Greater Little Rock, Bryant, Cabot, Conway, Heber Springs, Hot Springs, Hot Springs Village, Jacksonville, and Searcy areas. You have known this service as First Choice Senior Care.
• Primary care for seniors, where they live. This line of care has been known as Arkansas Advanced Care.
• Palliative care to partner with doctors and specialists to provide patient-centered care at any stage of serious illness. You have known this service as Arkansas Palliative Care.
• Hospice care for patients and families when time may be limited. This line of care has been known as Arkansas Hospice.

Across our service area, LifeTouch Health partners with the communities we serve to help our fellow Arkansans live better. A recent example was when students at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville collected wipes for patients and caregivers along with ten $50 Walmart gift cards for home-based veteran patients. The collections were gathered by Arkansas Tech sociology and criminal justice students as part of Project IMPACT (Interdisciplinary Minds Performing Acts of Community Transformation), an initiative by the ATU chapters of Alpha Kappa Delta (sociology honor society) and Alpha Phi Sigma (criminal justice honor society), which are advised by Dr. Jason Ulsperger, ATU professor of sociology and criminal justice. Pictured are LifeTouch Health Volunteer Coordinator Autumn Hughes, ATU student Skylee Hartley, and Dr. Jason Ulsperger. Thanks to all who donated their time and resources for this generous act of kindness!

Providing care for serious illness is more than a profession, it’s a calling. Please read what all these incredible nurses have to say about their calling.

Not everybody is after an easy job. The field of nursing is not for those looking to take it easy. More identity than simple
