We’re back with another answer to a very important question we’ve been getting a whole lot of lately (please keep asking us though, we seriously love talking to y’all):

❓❓Do you take insurance??

➡️ No, we do not take insurance. There are a lot of reasons for this, but the short answer is that we value customized, personalized care. Removing insurance from the equation offers more flexibility for what patients actually need 🫶🏻

We know this answer can be really scary, intimidating, or surprising for folks. Go check out our first FAQ post for more information about payment options.

Wrapped up a busy week, and we’re SO grateful for the connections we’ve made already! 🎉

We’ve been asked some good questions about what it’s like to work with us, so we’re going to start putting some of those answers here.

❓❓A really important question: how much does it cost?

➡️ We do not take insurance. There are a lot of reasons for this, but the short answer is that we value customized, personalized care. Removing insurance from the equation offers more flexibility for what patients actually need.

➡️➡️ We can provide a superbill for OON benefits.

➡️ All patients start with a clinical interview. The cost of this is $250 for 50-60 minutes of direct time with the doc.

➡️➡️ IF testing is needed, that $250 rolls into the cost of the evaluation (no paying for anything twice!).

➡️ We do not currently have a sliding scale.

➡️ ➡️ BUT. We do have an option to pay for your appointment over time instead of in one lump sum.

➡️➡️➡️ AND. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis for extreme need/extenuating circumstances. These spots are very limited and are not available for all appointments/types of evaluations.

➡️ Our administrative office hours are 8:00 am - 8:00 pm on Thursdays and Fridays, so we will respond to all scheduling queries beginning bright and early Thursday morning!

‼️‼️‼️ MEET THE DOC ‼️‼️‼️

Dr. Sydney Skaggs (she/her) is a licensed psychologist (in the State of Arkansas!) and residency- and fellowship-trained clinical neuropsychologist.

Sydney has a special interest in people and turned that curiousity into a passion for providing equitable mental heatlthcare and improving diagnostic accuracy (because context matters!). She has extensive training in identifying and diagnosing a broad range of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral conditions, diseases, and disorders — especially in folks who have historically been underserved and underrepresented. Sydney loves a good puzzle and specializes in complex differential diagnoses.

Her current clinical focus includes providing affirming care, increasing acceptability of late diagnoses of ADHD and autism, and compassionate evaluation services for serious mental illness and neurodegenerative disease.

In her never-enough free time, Sydney is an outsidey, aspiring cat lady who frequently forgets just how much she loves being a nerd.
