Mankato Clinic

Mankato Clinic The Mankato Clinic is one of Minnesota's largest physician owned, multi-specialty regional group practices. Early in 1916, Drs. A.E. Sohmer and J.S.

Holbrook attended a medical convention in Rochester. They had a discussion about the model of solo medical practice becoming obsolete and their brainstorming that evening formed the beginning of the Mankato Clinic. They got up the following morning, shook hands and formed a unique partnership to serve their patients better. The Mankato Clinic's 'group practice' officially opened its doors in the f

all of 1916 in downtown Mankato. The Mankato Clinic is now one of Minnesota's largest physician owned, multi-specialty regional group practices and represents the most comprehensive array of high-quality, professional health-care services in the area. With over 90 years and 115 physicians and healthcare professionals providing care to the region, the philosophy of the Mankato Clinic has always been to bring quality healthcare services to the community, close to home whenever possible. The Mankato Clinic continues to grow; adding primary care and specialty providers, making it easy for patients to obtain the medical care they need within their own community.

One photo shows where Jaxton started. The other shows just how far he’s come with the help of our Pediatric Therapy Services team.

For Jaxton’s mom, the impact has been profound.

“Jaxton started therapy at a very young age, and we’ve loved watching him work toward so many goals with a team that truly cares.

Last summer, we participated in the intensive therapy program, and the progress Jaxton made was incredible. Every milestone represented so much hard work from Jaxton and the entire team supporting him.

What stood out most was how personalized everything felt. The therapists focused on more than therapy alone. They provided guidance on nutrition, snack and drink ideas, clothing recommendations to make therapy easier and more comfortable, and practical strategies we could continue using at home.

We were incredibly impressed with the care, dedication, and progress we saw throughout the program. We absolutely plan to participate in the intensive again, and I would recommend it to any family looking for compassionate care and meaningful progress.”

The amount of Styrofoam™ used in medical shipments is hard to ignore. So, our central supply team did something about it.

With help from maintenance, they collected and delivered 10 large boxes of Styrofoam ™ from medical shipments to a recent recycling event hosted by Mankato Zero Waste. Not because they had to, but because they cared enough to make the extra effort.

It’s one more example of how employees across Mankato Clinic support the communities we serve.

Five-month wait for a dermatology appointment? Not at Mankato Clinic.

Kelli Ollhoff drove from Savage and got in within a week and a half.

“I was looking to get in for a dermatology appointment, and everywhere I called in the Twin Cities was booking months out. The first available appointment I could find was October 7th. For me, if there’s something going on, I want to get it checked sooner rather than later.

I’d had really good experiences with Mankato Clinic in the past, so I decided to make the drive to Saint Peter instead. It was absolutely worth it.

Check-in was fast, everyone was friendly, and everything just felt easy. Jeff Weideman, PA-C, answered all of my questions, never made me feel rushed, and made me feel comfortable the entire time.

Early detection is really important to me because I’ve lived it firsthand. Years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer after getting in quickly for an appointment through Mankato Clinic. Being seen early made a difference, and that experience changed how I think about my health.

If something feels off, don’t wait months wondering about it. Getting answers sooner can make all the difference.”
