With all the food recalls happening lately, it’s a great reminder of how important it is to know where your food comes from—and who you’re getting it from.

One thing I LOVE about farmers markets is the community. ❤️ My family has found amazing local people who have become like family, while getting fresh eggs, fruits, vegetables, meats, honey, pasta, sourdough bread, and so much more!

When you shop locally, you have the opportunity to actually meet the people behind your food, ask questions, and build relationships.

If you don’t already have a farmers market community, go find one! 🙌🏽

Today is the last market of the season in Oak Island! This is one of our favorite markets and it’s been a great season!

Has anyone else been using castor oil packs? 🌿

I’ve been researching them for the past few months, and honestly, I’ve fallen in love with the results from using them.

For me personally, I’ve been applying castor oil mostly underneath my arms — it helps keep my lymphatic fluid moving — and on my midsection too. But here’s the big one: I’ve noticed a huge difference in my sleep. My goodness… I sleep like a rock when I use it. Castor oil is one of the most potent, deeply penetrating, healing oils for the body.

And the pack itself is so easy to make. You take a cotton flannel cloth, add a little castor oil to it, and apply it right to your skin — the best time is right before bed, so you can just sleep with it on. For us women, one of the best spots is right around the belly and midsection. It’s the area that takes the hit from high cortisol and everyday stress — castor oil is wonderful for that. (If you’re pregnant, skip the belly and check with your doctor first. 💛) Over time you start to notice a real difference.

It’s also great for the skin — think eczema, rashes, dry cracked heels, and rough, tired feet that have carried you all day.
