Then at thirty-five, his kids begged him to jump in the pool. He did!! And the only thing that happened was he got wet. 😎

That moment changed everything. He found a support group. He found community. He eventually became President of the UOAA and spent forty-eight years helping other ostomates. 🙌🏼

Meet Marc...

An adventurous guy whose passion was hiking. Then came Crohn's disease. Then ostomy surgery in his early 40s. He wondered: would he ever hike again?
His first hike after surgery was only a mile. He calls it a victory.

Today, he's hiked the entire Appalachian Trail. 2,190 miles through wilderness. With an ostomy. With confidence. With the knowledge that his body is stronger than his fears. 🙌🏼

This is what I think about when someone says they can't do something because of their ostomy. I think about this man. I think about how an ostomy doesn't hold you back...it teaches you what you're really made of.
