Your acne has a few requests… 👀

If you’re trying to calm breakouts, these three habits can work against your progress:
• Picking & popping — increases inflammation and can lead to scarring or dark spots
• Over-cleansing — can strip and irritate the skin barrier, sometimes making redness and oiliness worse
• Constantly switching products — acne treatments need time to work, and changing your routine too often can make it harder to tell what’s actually helping

Consistency is one of the biggest parts of acne care. Give your routine time, keep it simple, and be gentle with your skin. 🤍

Makeup and acne really can affect each other — and the goal isn’t to stop wearing makeup. It’s to make a few smarter choices.✨

Makeup can sometimes contribute to breakouts when brushes are dirty, products are layered too heavily, formulas clog pores, or makeup is left on overnight. At the same time, acne can make makeup harder to apply by creating dryness, texture, inflammation, and excess oil.

A few simple habits can help:
• Clean brushes and sponges regularly
• Remove makeup before bed
• Look for non-comedogenic formulas when possible
• Avoid piling on too many products
• Prep skin with moisturizer
• Try not to pick at active breakouts

Healthy skin and makeup can absolutely coexist. 🤍

A lot of acne routines go wrong because we try to do too much, too fast.🤍

Some of the most common mistakes are:
• Over-cleansing
• Skipping moisturizer
• Using too many active ingredients at once
• Forgetting SPF
• Picking or popping pimples
• Expecting overnight results

Acne treatment takes time, and irritation can make things look worse before they get better. A simple, consistent routine that protects your skin barrier is usually more effective than throwing every “acne-fighting” product at your face at once.

Be patient with your skin — progress is still progress. ✨

Acne ingredients can feel overwhelming — but each one has a different job.✨

Here’s a quick breakdown of some of the most common acne-fighting ingredients:
• Salicylic Acid — helps unclog pores, reduce blackheads and whiteheads, and remove excess oil
• Benzoyl Peroxide — targets acne-causing bacteria and can help calm active, inflamed breakouts
• Retinol — supports cell turnover, helps prevent clogged pores, and can improve post-acne texture and marks over time
• Niacinamide — helps calm redness, support the skin barrier, and regulate excess oil
• Azelaic Acid — helps with inflammation, clogged pores, redness, and post-acne dark spots

The best ingredient for you depends on your skin type, acne type, and what else is already in your routine. More isn’t always better — using the right ingredients consistently is what matters. 🤍

Acne-prone skin doesn’t need a complicated routine — it needs consistency.✨

A few simple habits can make a big difference:
• Cleanse gently
• Use acne-targeting ingredients thoughtfully
• Moisturize every day
• Wear SPF
• Avoid picking or popping
• Introduce new products slowly
• Keep your routine simple and consistent

More products don’t always mean better results. Sometimes, supporting your skin barrier and sticking with the right routine is exactly what your skin needs. 🤍

Not all acne is created equal — and treating every breakout the same can actually make things harder.✨

Whiteheads, blackheads, papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts all form a little differently, which means they may respond best to different products and treatments.

Knowing what type of acne you’re dealing with is one of the first steps toward building a routine that actually makes sense for your skin.🤍

Tap through to learn the 6 common types of acne — and remember, picking and over-treating usually aren’t the answer.

Acne is normal. Texture is normal. Breakouts are normal.🤍

This Acne Positivity Day, remember that your skin does not define your beauty or your confidence. Healthy skin isn’t always perfectly clear skin — it’s skin that is cared for, supported, and treated with patience.✨

Are you making any of these common summer skincare mistakes?

Skipping sunscreen on cloudy days, applying too little SPF, forgetting to reapply, over-exfoliating sun-exposed skin, and getting a facial while sunburned can all leave your skin more irritated and vulnerable.

Use broad-spectrum sunscreen daily, apply it generously, reapply as needed, and keep your routine gentle after spending time outdoors. If your skin is red, hot, painful, peeling, or blistered, allow it to heal completely before scheduling a facial.

A few simple adjustments can help protect your skin throughout the summer and beyond.
