You are far more likely to reach your long-term health goals by meeting yourself where you’re at than by constantly striving for perfection.

And this isn’t just my personal experience- it’s something I’ve seen time and time again while coaching over 100 clients.

For some reason, we’ve normalized the idea that if you’re not perfect, you’ve failed. That one missed workout, one unplanned meal, or one weekend off track means you’ve ruined your progress.

I couldn’t disagree more.

The only true failure is giving up.

Being challenged and adapting is part of the process. In fact, learning how to navigate those moments is what creates long-term success.

That’s why I always emphasize the importance of meeting yourself where you’re at.

This past weekend, I was out of town and didn’t meal prep like I normally would have. Instead of beating myself up, I asked myself, “What’s the best decision I can make with the situation I’m in?”

So I:

1. Let go of the guilt instead of creating shame around not being prepared.
2. Found a realistic solution that fit my circumstances.

I stopped by the grocery store, picked up a few foods with a good balance of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats, and moved on with my day.

That’s what sustainable health looks like.

Not perfection. Not all-or-nothing thinking.

Just making the best decision you can with the circumstances you’re given.

Because the people who reach their goals aren’t the ones who are perfect- they’re the ones who continue showing up, even when life doesn’t go according to plan.

“Reality is a representation of our own personal distortions.”

First and foremost, I have to apologize for that camera angle hahahah but when something comes to my mind, I have to say it.

This is a quote I’ve lived by for the past five years. I’ve learned that almost everything in life- whether we initially see it as good or bad- can have a positive meaning if we choose to look at it that way.

Even the toughest moments of your health journey.

Because let’s be real- life is hard, and it’s easy to fall into a negative mindset. But the people who continue pushing toward their goals are often the ones who learn to change how they perceive the challenges in front of them.

They don’t see failure as the end.

They don’t have an all-or-nothing mindset.

They don’t let one bad day convince them they’ve ruined everything.

Instead, they understand that every challenge is an opportunity to learn, grow, and become stronger.

Think about going to the gym. You can look at it one of two ways:

“I have to go because I hate how I look.”

Or…

“I get to go because I’m becoming a stronger, healthier version of myself.”

Same action. Completely different mindset.

So the next time you catch yourself thinking negatively about your body, a commitment you’ve made, or even a single meal you ate, remember this:

Your perception shapes your reality.

The way you choose to view your health journey will have a greater impact on your long-term success than you may ever realize.

Do not quit on your health goals before your body has the chance to show you results!

As backwards as it may sound, wanting to see physical changes is often more of a mindset challenge than anything else.

Our brain naturally wants to see a reward quickly. If we put in effort and don’t see an immediate benefit, we start questioning whether it is even worth it.

Unfortunately, health does not work that way.

Long-term changes take time, and there is no way to rush the process. Your body needs time to adapt to the habits you are building.

With that being said, I know having a timeline can help people stay motivated. A general timeline I share with my clients is:

2 weeks → you may start feeling changes
4 weeks → others may begin noticing changes
6+ weeks → you may start seeing the results of your hard work yourself

The biggest mistake people make is quitting during that middle period because they assume it isn’t working.

So as you continue pushing yourself in your health journey, remember to give your body the time it needs. Consistency only works when you give it a chance to create change.

Consistency is key!

I can’t tell you how many clients I’ve worked with who become frustrated because they aren’t seeing the results they want after just one month of making healthy changes - even though they’ve spent years building the habits they’re now trying to break.

And I completely understand the frustration. When you’re putting in the work, you naturally want to see progress.

Unfortunately, lasting change takes time, especially if you’ve been following unhealthy habits for years.

One of my favorite reminders to share with clients is this:

It takes 2 weeks to feel a difference, 4 weeks for other people to notice a difference, and 6 weeks for you to see a difference.

The key is to keep showing up.

Your body needs time to adapt to your new routine, and the changes you’re making today are laying the foundation for the results you’ll see tomorrow.

So the next time you feel discouraged, don’t quit.

Stay consistent, trust the process, and give your body the time it deserves to change.

Are skinny people more valuable than overweight people?

The obvious answer is, of course, no. A person’s value is not based on their appearance. Yet so many of us beat ourselves up and think less of ourselves because of how we look.

We convince ourselves that the number on the scale determines whether we’re beautiful.

That fitting into a certain clothing size will make us happier.

That other people’s opinions matter more than our own.

This exact mindset is what causes so many people to yo-yo diet or follow extreme health fads. We look outside of ourselves to determine what our value should be.

Moving forward, I want every person who watches this video to practice one simple act of self-love.

Every morning, look in the mirror and repeat this statement three times:

“I am valuable because I’m human, not because of my looks or my accomplishments.”

You may not believe it at first, but with consistency and repetition, your mind can slowly begin to shift the way it views your worth.

And when that happens, the health choices you make will come from a place of self-respect and self-care, not from trying to meet the expectations of the world around you.

These three things will help ensure that your workouts are as effective as possible when it comes to reaching your long-term goals!

Once you get into a groove with your workout routine, it’s very common to hit a plateau with your progress.

And let’s be honest, it can be frustrating. When results slow down, it’s easy to feel discouraged and want to quit. As difficult as it may be, consistency is still the key to long-term success.

On top of building healthy habits, there are also a few things you can do to continue progressing in the gym:

1. Challenge yourself during your workouts.
2. Eat enough protein to support recovery and muscle growth.
3. Make sure you’re getting enough rest and recovery between workouts.

These three factors can make a huge difference when it comes to breaking through a plateau and continuing to move toward your goals.

I know reaching your health goals can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to do it alone, which is exactly why coaches exist. If you’re looking for guidance, accountability, or a personalized plan, feel free to reach out and schedule a consultation!

If you’re trying to completely change your routine in a matter of one week to lose weight, you’re missing the point.

Being healthy is not about the final goal- it’s about the long-term process you build to get there.

And that’s what so many people miss. They think they need to completely overhaul their life overnight. They eliminate calories, spend hours in the gym, and try to become a completely different person in a matter of days.

But if you actually want to lose weight and keep it off, I’m here to emphasize the opposite.

The people who are most successful aren’t the ones making the most extreme changes. They’re the ones who slowly create habits that fit into their lifestyle and can be maintained long-term.

Because the truth is, weight loss is not the result of one perfect week.

It’s the result of consistently repeating small habits over months and years.

So instead of asking yourself, “What’s the fastest way to lose weight?” start asking yourself, “What habits can I realistically maintain?”

That’s where real, lasting change begins.

06/21/2026

Don’t let a plateau stop your momentum!

We’ve all experienced it. After committing to healthy habits, prioritizing nutrition, exercising consistently, and finally starting to see progress, the last thing you want is for your results to slow down.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it… it sucks.

But how you respond during these moments is what will make or break your health journey.

When progress slows, you have two choices: continue pushing forward or throw in the towel.

Even if you aren’t sure how to break through the plateau yet, giving up will only lead you back to the habits that kept you stuck in the first place.

Instead, take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

Ask yourself:

Am I feeling stronger?

Do I have more energy?

Do I feel better in my body than I did a few months ago?

Because progress isn’t always reflected by a number on the scale, a measurement, or a specific outcome.

Sometimes progress is simply continuing to show up when results aren’t happening as quickly as you’d like.

Of course, there are strategies that can help you move past a plateau. You can increase workout intensity, add more variety to your training, challenge yourself with new exercises, or incorporate strength training if you haven’t already.

The key is continuing to give your body a reason to adapt.

But none of those strategies matter if you quit.

So don’t let a plateau convince you that your hard work isn’t paying off.

A plateau isn’t a sign to stop.

It’s often a sign that it’s time to challenge yourself in a new way and keep moving forward.

Your lack of patience may be the very thing stopping you from reaching your long-term health goals.

There is one topic in the health industry that isn’t discussed nearly enough when it comes to weight loss, body composition changes, or really achieving any health goal:

Instant gratification vs. delayed rewards

The idea of allowing your body the TIME it needs to change versus wanting to see results right now.

In today’s world, we’re constantly surrounded by instant gratification- and not just when it comes to health!

Need something? Amazon can deliver it within 24 hours.

Feeling stressed or overwhelmed? We can open our phones and scroll for a quick hit of distraction, relief, or dopamine.

We’re used to getting what we want immediately.

The problem is that your body doesn’t work that way.

As much as we all wish there was a magic wand that could help us lose weight overnight or gain muscle in a matter of days, lasting results simply take time.

Your body needs time to adapt to new habits, recover from workouts, build strength, and make meaningful changes.

But because we don’t see immediate results, many people give up after a few weeks.

They switch programs.
They start another diet.
They look for a shortcut.

When in reality, what they needed most was patience and repetition.

The people who achieve lasting results are not always the most motivated or the most talented.

They’re the people who are willing to delay gratification long enough to let the process work!

Remember: health is not about how quickly you can reach the finish line.

It’s about building habits that you can repeat long enough for the results to take care of themselves.
