People often seek Functional Medicine care at Pioneer Valley Osteopathy when they’re dealing with complex, ongoing symptoms and feel they haven’t gotten clear answers through conventional approaches. Common areas we’re asked about include tick-related concerns, possible mold/mycotoxin exposure, bioidentical hormone questions, and other persistent health issues where patients want a root-cause, personalized plan.

Functional Medicine uses all of the advances of today’s scientific understanding to create a personalized approach in addressing the root causes of each patient’s medical complaints. Particular focus is given to an extensive understanding of the patient’s unique medical history, diet, lifestyle, and genetics that often lead to the development of chronic and difficult to resolve illness. Specialized lab testing, dietary and lifestyle counseling, nutritional supplementation, and prescription medications can all be used as needed to optimize each patient’s health.

Over the past decade-plus of training and practice, Dr. David Stuckey has witnessed hundreds of patients relieved of bodily discomforts through the implementation of Osteopathic Manual Medicine. As a practitioner, his approach to caring for patients through the use of both Osteopathic and Functional Medicine directly incorporates the understanding that the body has an innate capacity to self-correct, and that his responsibility lies in helping to remove any impediments to the successful realization of this process.

In 2013, Dr. David Stuckey graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. Following graduation, he pursued a residency in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami, Florida.

Dr. Stuckey grew up in Richmond, Virginia in a warm and loving household with attentive grade school teachers who regularly advised their students to be both “scholars and gentlemen.” As an undergraduate, he attended Duke University where he studied Music and Psychology. In 2001, Dr. Stuckey moved to Boulder, Colorado, to attend the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. Shortly thereafter, he first encountered Osteopathy via Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy at the Colorado School of Energy Studies.
