Hand foot and mouth disease also know as Coxsackievirus is a common virus found on the hands and feet’s of children. It can cause respiratory like symptoms like the flu or common cold. Most notably it presents as tiny bumps on the foot mimicking warts. Pain and rash are the hallmark signs. The pain eventually turns into itching. Preventative spread starts with handwashing!! It’s incredibly important to follow up with your podiatrist and pediatrician to prevent infection and stop the spread of the condition.
