This is especially for all the women out there crossing thresholds who may feel quite unsteady....
One of the wildest parts of healing is realizing how few people from your old life actually have the capacity to walk into the new one with you.
That's okay.
There are people who loved your lack of boundaries more than they ever loved your freedom. There are people who are genuinely good, well-intended people yet still aren't living a life aligned with where you're going....or they live below the new standard you've set.
That's okay.
People who were comfortable with your overgiving, your explaining, your second chances, your willingness to betray yourself just enough to keep the peace. People who would secretly love to see you stay in your dysfunction so they can feel comfortable in their own.
That version of you is retired because we all know that in order to get to where you want, you have to get around people living a life you desire.
No dramatic exit required. No hatred. No revenge. No fu***ng dissertation explaining why the door is closed.
Just a deep, embodied knowing:
I don't live there anymore, goodbye.
Let the brain rewire, the body learn that boundaries are safe. Let people misunderstand you. Let old doors stay closed without standing on the other side of them arguing about why.
Love yourself enough to become unfamiliar, uncomfortable, untouchable.
Keep walking until the life that once felt impossible becomes the ground beneath your feet.
That's the dream made manifest, prayers answered. ♥️
