Patients traveled from across Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and even North Dakota to seek care at Aspire Women’s Wellness.

I’m honored by that trust, but I also think it says something important about the gaps that still exist in women’s healthcare.

Complex conditions like endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, and hormonal disorders deserve time, curiosity, and individualized care.

My hope is that through education, we can build a system where this kind of care is easier to access, wherever you live.

Until then, I’m grateful to do this work and to every patient who trusts Aspire to be part of their story. 💛

What happens when the research doesn’t have all the answers?

This is especially common in conditions like endometriosis and MCAS, where our understanding continues to evolve and there may be limited high-quality research or few FDA-approved treatment options for the specific symptoms patients are experiencing.

That doesn’t mean we throw evidence out the window.

It means we practice evidence-informed, patient-centered medicine.

That can look like:

→ Using the best available research, even when limited
→ Understanding the difference between FDA-approved indications and evidence for off-label use
→ Considering the risks, benefits, and quality of the evidence behind each option
→ Listening to what the patient is actually experiencing
→ Looking at the whole picture rather than treating a diagnosis in isolation
→ Using clinical experience thoughtfully
→ Reassessing when something isn’t working

There is a difference between saying “there isn’t enough research” and saying “there is nothing we can do.”

Patients with complex conditions deserve honesty about what we know, what we *don’t* know, and what options may reasonably be considered in between.

Good medicine is navigating uncertainty carefully, transparently, and with the patient at the center.

What if we looked beyond cycle suppression when treating endometriosis?

Cabergoline is a dopamine agonist most commonly used for conditions involving elevated prolactin, but there’s some intriguing research exploring its off-label use in endometriosis.

Why might it matter?

Endometriosis lesions aren’t just responding to estrogen. They’re biologically active, inflammatory tissue with complex signaling pathways. Dopamine signaling and angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) may play a role in how endometriotic lesions survive and grow. While human data is limited, one study of 71 women showed a 64% reduction in endometrioma size. (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00404-014-3242-4)

⚠️ Important: cabergoline is not FDA-approved to treat endometriosis, and the evidence is still limited. This is an emerging area of research and should be navigated with a specialist.

But this is exactly why I love looking at endometriosis through a whole-body lens:

There may be more therapeutic targets than simply “turning off” your ovaries.

Save this if you want me to keep breaking down the science behind less conventional endometriosis treatments. 💛

Perimenopause and endometriosis can exist in the same body at the same time, we’re just not talking about it.

There’s this idea that once you get close to menopause, endo quiets down. And for some people it does. But that perimenopause window, with estrogen swinging high and low, is where I actually see some of my patients feel worse.

If something feels off, it’s not nothing. It’s worth looking into and getting the support you need.
