I apply and massage Young Living Bergamot essential oil to the outer ear of every massage client on my table. And this is why…⬇️

When you’re caught in the stress cycle, your body forgets how to pause. Cortisol stays high, your nervous system camps out in fight-or-flight, and that wound-up feeling becomes the baseline you live in—until something shifts it.

Bergamot does something unusual: it travels directly through your olfactory pathways into the limbic system, the emotional center of your brain. In research with 41 women, inhaling bergamot lowered salivary cortisol and activated the parasympathetic “rest-and-digest” response—measurable changes that participants felt as calm. 🧠 In my own research with first responders and medical professionals, participants described something deeper: they found themselves responding instead of reacting, slowing down in moments that normally rushed them toward overwhelm. That’s what breaking the stress cycle looks like from the inside. ✨

Rest is not the reward for exhaustion.

How many of us learned—directly or indirectly—that we have to earn the right to rest?

Finish the work.
Take care of everyone else.
Answer the messages.
Clean the house.
Cross a few more things off the list.

Then you can sit down.

Except there will always be one more thing that needs doing.

And sometimes, by the time we finally give ourselves permission to stop, our bodies have already been asking us to stop for hours…days…sometimes much longer.

Rest isn’t laziness.
It isn’t a lack of ambition.
And it isn’t something we earn by reaching the point of depletion.

Rest is part of caring for the body that carries us through all of it.

Maybe self-care today doesn’t need to look like adding another thing to your routine.

Maybe it looks like putting something down.

Taking the nap.
Sitting outside for ten quiet minutes.
Going to bed earlier.
Saying no.
Leaving something on tomorrow’s list.
Doing absolutely nothing—and refusing to feel guilty about it.

Your body shouldn’t have to scream before you listen to its whispers. 🌿

What would rest look like for you today if you didn’t feel like you had to earn it first?

municate:

Being nice and having boundaries are not opposites.

You can be compassionate, understanding and gracious—and still say, this doesn’t work for me.

Sometimes people become uncomfortable when you set a boundary, especially when they were more comfortable with the version of you who didn’t.

Their discomfort doesn’t make your boundary unkind—or mean that you’re no longer being “nice.”

And sometimes a boundary becomes necessary because of the very behavior that is now making someone uncomfortable with it.

I’m learning that I don’t have to over-explain, defend myself, or make myself smaller just to keep someone else comfortable.

I can listen.
I can choose not to argue.
I can walk away from the back-and-forth.
And I can still stand firmly in what I know I need.

Being nice does not require abandoning yourself.

You can have a soft heart and strong boundaries at the same time. 💜

I’ve been asked often if I would offer breathwork sessions for children, and my answer was always “Yes, I would love to!” — but never made it happen. 😞

I have a full library of journeys designed specifically for children, and I would love to share them!

One momma has been very persistent about it, since her and her child (8) joined me on a private session a while ago — and her daughter has been wanting more.
The momma breathes with me often, and each time I’ve seen her she tells me (child) wanted to know when could she join us again? So, I have created something special and I simply cannot wait!! ✨

Heart of Connection is a multisensory Mommy & Me experience created to give moms and children ages 7-12 a meaningful opportunity to slow down, connect, express themselves, and simply be present with one another.

We’ll begin by choosing and affirmation card together and setting an intention for the experience.
Participants will be guided through a gentle Aroma Freedom Technique/60-second Reset, using the power of pure, organic essentials oils, breath, and mindful awareness to help settle the body and create space for any emotions that may be present.

From there, we’ll move into Heart of Connection, a 26-minute 9D Breathwork journey designed to nurture feelings of love, safety, openness, and connection.
Reiki will be incorporated during the experience to offer another gentle layer of relaxation and energetic support.

Following the Breathwork, participants will rest and integrate with a short sound bath before moving into a mindful art experience. Using color and specially designed mandala, moms and children will have an opportunity to creatively express what they are feeling - without needing to find all the right words.

We’ll close by returning to the intentions and affirmation cards chosen at the beginning, creating space to notice what may have shifted and to share, connect, or simply reflect together.

I think we are on to something incredibly profound here — and I am beside myself with excitement about it!

Space is very limited. Only 4 spots remain.
Drop me a heart in the comments for the registration link in your DMs.

✨ MEET KATIE ✨

Yoga Teacher • Breath Angel • Beautiful Human

Today I want to shine a light on someone very special who helped make our Come Home to Yourself retreat such a beautiful and supported experience — our Breath Angel, Katie. 💜

If you were there, you may have seen Katie quietly moving behind the scenes, helping wherever she was needed and, most importantly, being present in the water during our floating 9D Breathwork journey — watching over our breathers and helping me create a space where everyone could fully surrender to their experience while feeling safe and supported.

But there is so much more to Katie. ✨

Katie is a 200-hour trained yoga teacher who completed her training through Grace & Glory School of Yoga. She currently shares her practice at Eclectic Bends and calls Mays Landing home.

What I especially appreciate about Katie is that her heart for service extends well beyond the yoga mat.

One mission that is deeply important to her is helping to END THE OVERDOSE CRISIS — a cause rooted in compassion, humanity, and the belief that every life matters.

And behind the teacher, the Breath Angel, and the woman who shows up for others is someone building dreams of her own. One of Katie’s personal dreams for her future is beautifully simple and deeply meaningful: to own a home of her own. 🏡✨

There is something special about watching the people around you grow, step into their gifts, and create lives that reflect what matters most to them.

Katie, thank you for bringing your presence, your care, your time, and your heart to Come Home to Yourself. Thank you for keeping our breathers safe, for helping behind the scenes, and for being willing to step in wherever you were needed.

I’m so grateful you were part of the magic. 💜✨

And if you’re looking to deepen your own yoga practice, go show Katie some love! I’m including her current class information in this post so you can find her on the mat. 🧘‍♀️✨

Here’s to supporting our friends, celebrating their gifts, and cheering loudly as they build the lives they dream of. 💜

Summer has a way of filling our days.

The kids are home from school, calendars shift, vacations happen, the beaches come alive, and we soak up the sunshine, long days, warm nights, and all the beautiful busyness that comes with the season.

I intentionally took a little pause from offering 9D Breathwork journeys this summer to make room for some of that too — to enjoy the season, spend time with the people I love, and simply be present for summer while it was here.

And now, we begin to transition.

The days are getting shorter. The air is becoming cooler. The leaves are changing colors, and there is something about autumn that carries a little nostalgia with it.

Life seems to soften and slow down.

Nature begins its own process of letting go, reminding us that we can do the same.

And it feels like the perfect time to come back to the breath.

I’m so excited to gather again, and I can’t wait for you to join me for our next 9D Somatic Breathwork Journey:

UNLEASH YOUR POWER✨

I can’t wait for you to breathe, release, reconnect — and unleash the power that has always been within you.

This is your only opportunity to breathe with me in the month of October, as I am also hosting a Mommy & Me workshop for parents and children ages 7-13. But be on the lookout for November’s offerings!

One-on-one sessions also available. 💜

Scan, click, or open the QR code on flyer for full details and registration. Or comment “UNLEASH” for the registration link in your inbox.

Sometimes wellness looks like doing less.

Taking a breath.
Unclenching your jaw.
Putting the phone down.
Giving your nervous system a moment to catch up.

You don’t have to earn rest.

Take the breath. 🤍

What does it mean to come home to yourself?

After weeks of planning, a postponement, watching the weather, surrendering, trusting, and finally coming together… yesterday unfolded more beautifully than we could have imagined.

We slowed down.

We breathed.

We moved, rested, shared, laughed, connected, released, and gathered around the fire as the sun went down. 🌿🔥

But perhaps the most beautiful part was simply witnessing a group of people say YES to themselves.

Yes to stepping away from the noise.

Yes to being still.

Yes to receiving.

Yes to connection.

Yes to creating space for themselves in lives that so often ask them to give to everyone else.

Gill and I are deeply grateful to every person who trusted us enough to spend this day with us and helped create the beautiful energy that filled this space.

And as we spoke about before gathering, what was created in our circle doesn’t end there.

May the peace, love, healing, and light we cultivated continue to ripple outward—into our homes, our relationships, our communities, and into the collective. ✨

Yesterday was magical.

Our hearts are full. 💛

THIS is coming home to Yourself. 🌿

SELF-CARE DOESN’T ALWAYS LOOK LIKE SELF-CARE. 💜

When we hear the words “self-care,” we often picture massages, bubble baths, spa days, vacations, meditation and quiet mornings.

And yes…sometimes self-care looks exactly like that.

But sometimes it looks very different.

Sometimes self-care is saying NO without writing a paragraph explaining why.

It’s resting before your body forces you to.

It’s asking for help instead of carrying everything yourself.

It’s nourishing your body even when life gets busy.

It’s going outside and feeling the earth beneath your feet.

It’s putting your phone down.

It’s taking a few intentional breaths before responding.

It’s leaving the conversation.

It’s protecting your energy.

It’s choosing sleep.

It’s setting a boundary — and actually keeping it.

It’s making time for the people who make you feel safe, seen and connected.

And sometimes…it’s choosing yourself, even when someone else doesn’t understand your choice.

Self-care isn’t always pretty.
It isn’t always comfortable.
And it certainly isn’t always Instagram-worthy.

Sometimes the most powerful acts of self-care happen quietly, where nobody sees them.

They happen in the moment you finally listen to what your body, mind and spirit have been trying to tell you.

Self-care isn’t selfish.

It’s a relationship with yourself.

And like every meaningful relationship, it requires attention, honesty, boundaries, nourishment and love. 💜

So I’ll leave you with this today:

What has self-care looked like for YOU lately — especially the kind nobody else sees?
