Arthritis is caused by two bones touching in the body making new bone to protect the area. Why does this happen? This happens because our disc space or cushion between two bones becomes diminished. This can happen with age or with an Injury. As that cushion becomes thinner, the bones will start to touch each other. When they touch each other, the body says this is not supposed to happen so the body builds more bone to protect the area. I will work to relax the muscles to open up the joint space and to give the bones more room to move. We will include traction, Medical MASSAGE AND LASER. The LASER will reduce the inflammation and the pain. When you go to the doctor the doctor takes an x-ray and sees that you have arthritis and send you for physical therapy. I’m not against physical therapy. But I do believe that needs to be done after you’re out of pain. You will notice a difference the first day you come in. The protocol I like to use with most people is twice a week for 2 to 3 weeks. Once you’re out of pain, we can space them a little bit further apart to see how well you do with your homework. Then it may be just a Maintenance or it may just be you stretching more often at home. My goal is to help you get out of pain. Strengthen your muscles with PT after and have a better quality of life.
