**Your Therapy happens in more than just your mind.**

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help us understand thoughts, behaviors, and patterns. Bodywork can offer another way to explore how those patterns show up physically.

Craniosacral Therapy, Somato-Emotional Release, and Myofascial Unwinding may bring awareness to changes in breathing, muscle tension, movement, sensations, or emotions.

You stay in control of your session; we just help keep the conversation going.

As a reminder, bodywork isn't a replacement for cognitive therapy, but it can be a complementary service for a holistic therapy program. 🌿

What does “trauma-informed” actually mean?

To us, it means recognizing that everyone has a different history—and that history can influence how we experience touch, pressure, movement, and treatment.

Trauma-informed care means we listen first, explain what we're doing, ask for consent, and respect your right to change your mind at any point.

Your session is paced around you. We can adjust pressure, positioning, technique, or approach based on your comfort and feedback.

Depending on your needs, your care may include Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, or Therapeutic Massage.

Trauma-informed isn't a technique. It's how we provide care.

Most importantly, you remain in control of your body and your treatment. 🌿https://www.healingrootskc.com/

Your body is always responding to the world around you.

Sometimes those responses linger long after the stressful event has passed, showing up as tension, discomfort, or simply feeling like you can't fully relax.

That's why we take a gentle, trauma-informed approach. Whether we're using Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, or Massage Therapy, our focus is on listening to your body—not forcing it to change.

Healing doesn't happen by fighting your body. It starts by working with it. ✨👐

Restrictions within the fascial system can change how forces are transmitted through the body, leading to altered movement patterns, increased strain, and compensation over time.

At Healing Roots, every Myofascial Release session begins with an assessment. We evaluate how your body moves, identify areas of restriction, and develop a treatment plan based on your presentation—not a predetermined routine.

Our goal is to improve movement quality, reduce unnecessary strain, and help your body function more efficiently.

If you've been living with pain, stiffness, or movement limitations, we'd be happy to discuss whether Myofascial Release may be an appropriate part of your care. Book a visit: https://wix.to/fLQryA9 🌿🤝

🧸 New on the blog!

Toddlers and young children experience rapid growth and change, but they don't always have the words to tell us when something feels "off."

In this week's article, we're exploring why some families choose Craniosacral Therapy during the toddler and early child development years, what a session actually looks like, and how a gentle, child-led approach can support growing bodies.

If you've ever wondered what Craniosacral Therapy is—or whether it's appropriate for young children—this article is a great place to start.
