Ari and I met during the summer before his senior year in high school. That year he completed Clinicare’s highly competitive Summer Internship Program through our partnership with AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School

Ari returned this summer to help manage the data collections for our pharmacist-led clinical services, and proved how pharmacists impact patients’ health outcomes by improving their hypertension and diabetes.

Now heading into his third year at UC Berkeley, he helped our team with complex medical data like a seasoned pro!

Ari tracked critical blood pressure metrics and patient A1C improvement trends, providing the concrete data needed to further prove what we already know to be true: pharmacist-led clinical services fundamentally save lives.

I am very much looking forward to crossing paths with Ari in the future and can’t wait to see what the future holds for him!

🥼Most people don’t realize that residency is structured just like a medical residency!
👩‍⚕️While not legally required to practice, it has become the definitive choice for most graduates who want to master their clinical expertise and advance their careers in more specialized areas.
📚The stakes are incredibly high from day one. On top of demanding clinical rotations, residents must study for and pass two notoriously difficult board exams to become fully licensed pharmacists within the first three months of their program!

🗓️⏰I know we are already at the end of July and the residency officially started few weeks ago. If you know me, you know my schedule is always a non-stop chaos running the pharmacy and clinics—so yes, I am definitely a little late to the party with this post!

📖🩺While clinical trainees nationwide are pushing through their initial training blocks and tackling exam season, it’s the perfect time to look at the vital work they do during this residency year and after program completion.
💊🩺When I started over 20 years ago, my vision was to build an advanced practice pharmacy care center. Through our partnership with the USC Mann School School of Pharmacy, pharmacists get to step into the role of a primary care after training for a year at

👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️Our residency program puts clinicians on the front lines of — managing chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and more. They manage and optimize complex therapies, order and interpret lab results, and provide the counseling patients need to achieve their best health outcomes.

Year after year, seeing our trainees transform into confident clinicians is the ultimate reward. We couldn’t do it without the amazing legacy left behind by everyone who has walked through our doors.

📣Calling all USC Mann Pharmacy Residency Programs Clinicare alumni! What is your best advice for surviving the initial couple of months of residency?

Away for 2 weeks, returning to 2 years of emails…
If you’re in that queue, I promise, I’ll respond…

(Maybe I should have listened to these vacation thoughts)

“Doctor… Pharmacist… Doctor… Pharmacist…”

A relatable from the classic Curb Your Enthusiasm - everyday, familiar interactions!

Part 2 of my prior post.

👩‍⚕️Preventing side effects, medication and supplement interactions, medication and disease interactions are all important factors of any successful treatment plan.

👩‍⚕️Remember that medications only work if you know how to take or use them correctly, how to manage side effects if experiencing them and how to avoid potentially harmful interactions.

👩‍⚕️Yet another reminder that medication related problems might not become obvious right away and often times, instead of adjusting therapy or addressing drug-related problems, patients get prescribed more medications.

👩‍⚕️Choose your pharmacist wisely.

👩‍⚕️This was recorded last week… but I just got to edit it and I’m still editing the second part to post it shortly.

👩‍⚕️I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to keep your providers updated on your medication and supplements lists.

👩‍⚕️I also want to remind everyone that medication related problems might not become obvious right away and often times, instead of adjusting therapy or addressing drug-related problems, patients get prescribed more medications.

👩‍⚕️Choose your pharmacist wisely.

Big Pharma or Big Supplement?
Part Two - this is the continuation of the hot topic of Big Supplement discussion (watch Part One in prior reel).

Two huge for-profit industries. Operating under different regulations.

Yes, supplements have advantages and disadvantages.
Yes, you can take “too much” supplements.
Yes, they can be beneficial or harmful.
Yes, they can have side effects (including serious side effects).
Yes, they can interact with prescription medications and other supplements.
Yes, quality matters, including storage conditions (climate or temperature controlled).

And, no, “natural” does not mean safe.
