What is Vitamin B1?

Thiamin doesn’t get nearly enough credit. This water soluble vitamin is quietly running a lot of your body’s operations — energy production, nervous system regulation, growth and development. Without enough of it you’d feel it pretty fast.

Luckily, it’s in a lot of foods you probably already eat. Whole grains, meat, legumes, and nuts are all good options for Vitamin B1.

My body is a machine that turns hour long workouts into TWO hour sessions.

Aside from my various distractions, I’m loving the program I’ve been doing from . Absolute Paradise has a perfect mix of heavy lifting, movement, plyometrics, speed, and heavy bag work.

For me, variety is the name of the game. I love knowing there’s something new for me to work on every day, without giving up the basics. ❣️💪

The warm season is upon us.

Are you hydrated, or are you just drinking water?

We all know that we should be drinking water, but how much? Why is it so important?

It doesn’t need to be that complicated. Aim for about half of your body weight in ounces, and maybe add a small pinch of sea salt to your water bottle.

Building your dinner plate doesn’t have to be stressful.

You just need to hit all of your bases.

Fruits and vegetables should take up about half of your plate (we’re not just protein maxxing on this page, we’re fiber maxxing too)

The remaining should be a source of complete protein and some form of carbohydrates.

You don’t need to reserve a spot on your plate for your fats (but you are welcome to if you so choose). You can just cook your veggies with olive oil and you’re all set.

Nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated. If you want help designing your meals in a way that works for you, I’m always here. ❣️🥬🥩🍎

I’m not one to recommend supplements that aren’t necessary for your health, but creatine is an exception.

Creatine is one of the most well researched supplements for performance. Plus, there is more coming out every day about its potential for cognitive function. It is completely safe, and has massive benefits for reaching your health/fitness goals.

Please enjoy my mid lunch packing crash out.

Feeling confident in your body and how it looks is OF COURSE important, but it’s not the primary purpose of nourishment. There are so many preventable diseases that can be avoided through nutrition. Focusing too much on aesthetics rather than functionality can lead to deficiencies, and that’s the last thing I want for you.

Eating in a way that keeps you healthy and strong is radical self care. You deserve that much from yourself. If you need help figuring out where to start, that’s what I’m here for. ❣️🫛🍓

Reminder that the Menopause Workshop is coming up THIS SATURDAY. There is still plenty of time to sign up! You won’t want to miss it.

Hello! We will be having a menopause workshop on May 16th at Vitality Village!

We will be going over:
-What is happening in the body
-Nutrition to help support these changes
-The impact of exercise for bone, muscle, and cardiovascular health

If you can’t make it, don’t worry, we will also begin group classes for both perimenopause and post menopause on a regular basis. More details to come on that end.

And did I mention there will be snacks?
