Wow, Oxford Hills families, you are raising some truly remarkable leaders!
HOH was inspired and impressed by the incredible work of students at Oxford Hills Middle School South Campus. These young people identified real challenges in their community and stepped up to create meaningful solutions. Their creativity, compassion, and determination were on full display as they researched issues, asked thoughtful questions, and collaborated with community partners to turn ideas into action.
Projects included:
• Creating a community awareness banner to address impaired driving
• Promoting youth mental health and substance use prevention through clubs and healthy alternative activities
• Organizing a toiletry drive to collect essential items for unhoused youth in the community
• Improving playground safety and advocating for updates to recreational spaces
• Cleaning up public parks and addressing litter in shared community spaces
• Developing new after-school clubs and activities to increase student connectedness
• Raising awareness about healthy social media use and screen time habits
• Addressing bullying and promoting respect for all students through education, awareness, and positive school culture initiatives
Their work highlights the real impact young people can have in shaping a better future for Oxford Hills. Thank you for inviting us to come see your projects and for the chance to be involved with this project.
