I just watched a video about a young man who had jumped off of the Golden Gate Bridge, and survived!! Wow! On a thought level, "out of my area of expertise". Then I recall a conversation that I had with a woman, obviously in an abusive relationship. In the course of conversation I said that she had done nothing to deserve this kind of treatment. She eventually left the relationship. Now I don't for a moment think that she did so on my behest but we never know which moment of empathy will be the one that turns the tide for someone struggling with corrosive thoughts.
As a provider of health we never know what form it will take.
