Remember the scene in Oliver Stone’s JFK with Joe Pesci and all those lab mice? There’s a story behind it most people have never heard.

In the early ’60s, a 19-year-old science student named Judyth Vary Baker did something in a little high school lab that professional researchers hadn’t been able to do.

The papers picked it up.

Then the big shots came to visit. They wanted to know how a teenager had pulled it off.

What happened next is in two books: Dr. Mary’s Monkey by Edward Haslam, and her own memoir, Me & Lee.

As in Lee Harvey Oswald.

Dr. Tent tells the whole story in his Autoimmune Lecture. In his words: “The story that could have leaked out made this one look like nothing.”

Sometimes the healthiest-looking guy in the room is in the most trouble.

You’d walk past this man at the mall and never think twice.
But he’d been getting testosterone injections and never told Dr. Tent.

Then came the clots.
In his lungs.
In his legs.

He noticed something was wrong in his calf and asked to stop the shots.

He was told to just wait until next week.

He ended up spending six days in the hospital.

Dr. Tent says he has five patients right now dealing with clots in their lungs, heart, or legs.

Most of them are young.

Most of them started because of something they heard at the gym.

Here’s why it matters.
Dr. Tent points to research tying testosterone injections to a higher risk of blood clots.

A blood clot is a plug of blood that can block a vein.

If one breaks loose and travels to your lungs, it can be life-threatening.

Pain, swelling, or warmth in one calf, or sudden shortness of breath, are warning signs.

Don’t wait until next week. Get checked right away.

The good news?
Dr. Tent says there are simpler, natural ways to support your testosterone.

He’s using them with his own family members right now and seeing great results.

Feeling run down and achy for no reason? Sometimes the cause can be smaller than you'd ever think to look for.

Here’s another story from Dr. Tent.

Three nose hair trimmers broke on him in just two weeks. Junk. He wasn't buying a fourth.

So he got impatient and pulled the hair out.

Small sore. Nothing. Who cares.

Two days later: legs aching, joints sore, whole body off.

From a nose hair.

That sore took three weeks to close.

Three weeks of a body quietly spending everything it had on something he'd have sworn was nothing.

Unbelievable, and one of the most useful lessons in 46 years of practice.

Here's why.

When you suddenly feel bad, you hunt for a big reason. A diagnosis. A name. Something that matches how rough you feel.

Sometimes there isn't one. There's a small thing, a sore, a cut, a tooth, a gut that's been off for a week and your immune system is pouring everything into it while you look everywhere else.

It's can be that easy to knock your whole system off kilter.

The answer can be simple. It's just smaller than you were looking for.

Stop looking for the big reason. Go find the small one.

And if you can't find it, that's our job. Forty-six years of chiropractic and functional medicine in Novi, Michigan, looking at the whole person instead of the loudest symptom. In office, or virtual from anywhere.

Save this for the next time you feel off and can't say why.

It's 2:30-3 in the morning. We're walking down 7 mile going towards Detroit. Nobody on the road. Most men today wouldn't make it through what I learned over 50 years ago hitchhiking as a teenager.

We only needed a half a mile ride. I wanted to keep walking. Norris wanted to get there faster.

So he sticks his thumb out and we, at 15 years old, end up jumping into an old two-door blue thunderbird for a half-mile long ride home.

We're moving along and all of a sudden the driver who picked us up passed our road.

Now I'm stuck. No one around to come save me. Locked in the back of a 2 door coupe with a guy I just met.

He turns around, looks me straight in the eye and says...

"Don't you wanna go in the woods?"

Thank God I'm still here to talk about this.

Here's how I got out... https://youtu.be/Dm_u-havrLs?t=2227

Sometimes the whole case comes down to one question.

A patient came to Dr. Gill with joint pain, stiff knuckles, and fatigue so bad it was running his life.
The whites of his eyes were yellow.
So was his skin.

His bloodwork showed why.

ALT and AST are enzymes that leak out of your liver when it’s being damaged.
Think of them like a smoke alarm.
His ALT should be around 10 to 30.
It was 2,900.
His AST was 1,515.

Bilirubin is the yellow waste your liver is supposed to clear out.
When the liver falls behind, it builds up and turns your skin and eyes yellow.
His should be under 1.
It was 5.5.

Then came the iron.
His ferritin, which is how much iron your body has stored up, was 1,700.
His iron saturation was 61%.

That’s why Dr. Gill is now testing him for hemochromatosis.
It’s a condition where your body holds on to too much iron, and it piles up in places like your liver and joints.

So how did his liver get this bad?
Dr. Gill ruled out the usual causes.
Then he asked one simple question.
Have you ever had surgery?
He had. His appendix was removed overseas.
Dr. Gill suspects hepatitis B from surgical instruments that weren’t properly sterilized.

While the tests come back, here’s the plan:
Pull the extra iron out with lactoferrin and FEX.
Support the liver with Beta-TCP from Biotics.

Dr. Gill will share a follow-up on this one.

If you keep waking up at 2 AM, stop blaming your mattress.

Dr. Tent wants you to look at something most people never think about:

Your blood sugar.

In fact, he says this three times whenever the subject comes up:

“My blood sugar controls my sleep.
My blood sugar controls my sleep.
My blood sugar controls my sleep.”

Why repeat it?

Because most people have already decided their sleep is broken.

It’s stress. It’s age. It’s the mattress. It’s insomnia.

But there may be another variable worth paying attention to: what you ate before bed.

Here’s the example Dr. Tent gives:

You eat something around 7 PM that digests quickly. Hours later, you’re suddenly awake.

Now it’s 2:14 in the morning and you’re lying there wondering why you can’t get back to sleep.

His suggestion is simple:

Try a protein-rich evening snack for one week and pay attention to whether anything changes.

That doesn’t mean every middle-of-the-night wake-up is caused by blood sugar. Sleep can be affected by many different factors, and persistent sleep problems are worth discussing with a healthcare professional.

But sometimes a simple experiment can help you notice patterns you weren’t paying attention to before.

Have you ever noticed a connection between what you eat at night and how well you slept?

You read every ingredient before it goes into your body. But what about that "stuff" that never makes it onto the label?

“We are surrounded by plastics every day from the food we eat to the water we drink to the products we use.” - Dr. Gill

In MICROPLASTICS, HEAVY METALS & YOUR HEALTH, Dr. Craig Gill takes a closer look at plastic pollution, tiny plastic particles called microplastics, and raises questions about what reaches our food and water supply.

He also discusses pharmaceutical residues in our waterways and why wastewater treatment is always part of the conversation.

Understanding your environment starts with knowing what questions to ask.

From your water bottle to your food containers, where have you swapped out plastic and what’s been the hardest thing to replace?

She had an itchy rash for years. In places you don't want to describe.

Dermatologists didn't know what it was. U of M didn't know what it was.

I made a couple of suggestions. We knocked the sugar out.

13 weeks later:
✅ Rash 90% gone
✅ 30 lbs lost
✅ Off all her blood pressure medication
✅ Cholesterol down from 189 to 154

A lot of these itchy rashes follow the sugar. Stay on the wrong diet and you feed it every single day.

Meat, eggs, butter, and cheese. That's it.

Got a rash nobody can explain? Send us a message.

Individual results vary.

People ask Dr. Tent how he was still skating like that at 65.

They want the pill.

There isn’t one.

There’s a trampoline in his backyard and he’s been using it for 41 years.

Every bounce loads and unloads the body while challenging coordination, balance, and control.

Over and over. Day after day. Year after year.

His words:

“I’m used to 4G. You’re used to 1. If I hit you, you’ll feel every piece of that.”

At 65, he finished second in scoring in his hockey league despite never growing up playing the sport.

But here’s the part nobody wants to hear:

It isn’t really about the trampoline.

It’s about the 41 years of consistency.

We’re always looking for the new exercise, the new supplement, the new routine the thing that’s finally going to make the difference.

Sometimes the answer is much more boring.

Find something that challenges your body. Do it consistently. And keep doing it long enough for that consistency to matter.

Pick the boring thing. Then don’t stop.

What’s one thing you’ve managed to stick with for years?

“My blood sugar was still a roller coaster...” Even Dr. Jeff learned patterns he hadn’t previously spotted by measuring his blood sugar with a CGM.

In THE POWER OF PEPTIDES, he shares what he noticed after wearing a continuous glucose monitor: changes around a poor night’s sleep, stress, caffeine, and certain foods.

Two weeks of watching his own numbers gave him a different understanding of his daily habits.

“You just have to learn your patterns and your habits and see how foods affect you.”

Before changing your routine, try understanding what’s happening first.
