💙 WHY SUPPORTING PARK LAWN MATTERS 💙
Sometimes the best way to explain why Park Lawn needs the support of our community isn't through statistics, fundraising totals, or a list of programs.
Sometimes it's through one name written on a board.
Brandon.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to witness something special.
Brandon came to Park Lawn with his grandfather, Anastacio — a grandfather determined to make sure his grandson has every opportunity to grow, succeed, and build the best possible future.
He told us he had visited other places. He had seen programs that simply didn't meet the standards he had for Brandon.
He kept looking.
And he came back to Park Lawn.
Then I watched our Park Lawn team do what they do every day.
They went through the programs, services, and opportunities available — but the conversation was never simply about where Brandon could fit.
The question kept coming back to:
"What's best for Brandon?"
And most importantly, they asked Brandon.
What does he want? What does he enjoy? What are his goals? What opportunities will help him grow?
His grandfather was advocating for his future, and our team was making sure Brandon had a voice in that future.
Then Brandon walked over to the board, picked up the chalk, and wrote his name.
Brandon.
I took this picture because that simple moment said so much.
One name.
One person.
One family.
One future filled with possibilities.
