Iran 🇮🇷 and New Zealand 🇳🇿 represent two very different healthcare journeys.

One has developed a tax funded universal system with heavily subsidised prescriptions. The other has a trained medical workforce and established hospitals, while navigating access challenges shaped in part by international trade restrictions that can affect the supply of medicines.

Neither story is simple, and that is exactly the point.

Every country’s health system is shaped by its history, economy, and politics. Understanding that helps us ask better questions about their systems and our own.
