La Clinica started in 1971 as a single storefront clinic with the efforts of a group of students from UC Berkeley. These students, aware of the gap in health care for lower-income populations, held a conviction that every person deserved access to quakity, culturally-appropriate health care, regardless of their ability to pay. Volunteers remain an essential component in helping to continue with La Clinica's mission. Volunteer Program in Family Medicine (at Fruitvale Village)
Do you want to:....gain hands-on health care experience?....help remove the barriers to accessing quality health care?....serve the community by volunteering your time? La Clinica Family Medicine is looking for committed, motivated and dependable volunteers to join our developing volunteer program. Volunteers will play a critical role in the smooth functioning of a robust, busy community clinic by taking on a 3.5-hour shift once a week for 7 months. Volunteering opportunities will depend on skills, availability, bilingual fluency and clinic needs. We are always accepting applications; however, our primary recruitment phases occur in September and April. Apply online: http://goo.gl/forms/h4ZzPWIZmr
